Seriously, IMO, not worth buying AP for phone that is like RM1K. How much can you save from AP? RM100 to RM200 only...and endless headaches or hidden cost later.

We can update our firmware easily whenever we like with ori set.


btw, in previos V18, i mentioned GPS improvement with firmware V31.

Obviously, i made a mistake. Still takes forever to lock with V31 without A-GPS enabled. Frankly speaking, without A-GPS, the normal GPS is DYSFUNCTIONAL. Wait until battery runs out also cannot get a lock!!!

btw, i'm confused about this hard/soft lreset business. I've updated my phone and it seems to work fine. Do i need to hard reset/ soft reset???

I've downloaded the OVI Maps 3.0 for Singapore and Malaysia last night. Also downloaded a Cantonese female voice navigator...haha..damn funny when it speaks Cantonese. But don't dare to play long...coz kena charge 3G charges...

I wonder how much...1kb for RM10?? Click click click a few times and gone pokai liao... I think if we are using in forein country, better just buy a prepaid and use locally if for extended period.

One question, i think i've screwed up my phone by deleteing the e-mail setup app in the app folder. I delete it because for some strange reason, there's 2 of them. One called 'E-mail' and another 'E-mail Setup'. But for some reason, it deleted both.

So how do i backup my installed apps like IM+Skype(which i paid RM5) and restore it back after a soft/hard reset??

FOTA = Free Over The Air upgrade= upgrade directly from your mobile via WIFI or 3G(gonna cost u a bomb if u don't have unlimited data usage plans).

NSU=Nokia Software Updater=download and update from PC with ur mobile connected.

IMO, I find FOTA the best, but it's always slower getting latest update compared to NSU.

FOTA is still v30 when NSU is V31. Probably still V30 now..

Yeah, that's what i usually do. But sometimes i scared if the WIFI disconnected, will it automatically connects to 3G?
Especially for apps like e-mail, skype, maps(Garmin and Nokia).

I'm especially concerned with Nokia maps...i think you need to go online mode than only can listen to voice navigation right? Scary ler...how much it charges?

btw, manage to setup e-mail to download my gmail account. hehe. syiok.

Added on September 17, 2009, 9:23 pmNormal lar. If you play WIFI and GPS, one day can finish. Today i didn't do much WIFI and GPS, still full bar. Previously, can finish in half battery in a day or more, if play loads of WIFI and GPS.

5800XM does not have 3D accelerator. Basically it'll not perform very good with any 3D games.

I won't say graphics on the iphone 3GS and PSP sucks at all. Pretty good by all means. Of course you don't compare to GTX 295 QUAD SLI or something.

Ok, i take back again what i said about V31 doesn't improve GPS locking.

Previously, i've updated the firmware, but didn't do any hard reset. Yesterday i did it and in the process, couldn't find my ealier back up on my PC and have to restore the contacts from my old phone....

Anyway, after hard resetting the phone, i've tried the GPS locking just now without A-GPS and it locks like in 15 seconds or so!!! It's amazing!!!

I suggest everyone to HARD RESET YOUR PHONE AFTER FIRMWARE UPDATE NOW!!! (of course, make like 10 copies of your phone backup and check the folders after the backup!!!).

Exactly. Who are you to criticize? Are you with me when i lock my phone? I'm just sharing my experience. And this morning, i have purposely disabled the AGPS before attemptin the location finder. And it did lock within 15 seconds or so.

Unfortunately, it didn't perform so well later at night. In the end, i have to go back to AGPS, which locks in a jiffy. I've just travelled from Setapak to Kepong Carrefour and back using the AGPS. And there was no satellite signal lost during the entire trip (except when i reached Carrefour and drove into the parking).

What i can think of is during the morning, the sky was not so cloudy. In the afternoon and night, it was raining, perhaps this contribute to the factors.

Seriously, some people tends to criticize everything and assume other people are not as smart as themselves and doubts everything because it doesn't tally with their conclusion.

Added on September 20, 2009, 12:33 amMy usage for today, morning SKYPEing and WIFIing, afternoon WIFI-ing a bit and night time GPS. Finally left one bar, recharging now. For me, not too bad. If can last one day ok-lar, just re-charge everyday.

Yeah, i suspect this could be a possible scenario, after more testing. Thanks for providing some USEFUL info(and Ataraxis too). Unlike some people who simply tok without adding any useful info for sharing.

hmm...i have a problem...why does the E-mail setup always auto start everytime i on the phone?? How to get rid of it? And there's always 2 e-mail setup incons in my phone!

Must be that 'MTS driver failed to install' problem. Anyone manage to fix this? It is very annoying. But for my case, at least PC Suite able to detects the phone.

One 'NOKIA' shop offers RM200 for original with 6 month warranty!! Another shop offers RM80 for original with 3 months warranty and RM40 for non-ori.

The RM80 'original'...is it really original?? How can the price difference be so huge? Or is it tipu wan...

Guys...got another problem. I can receive e-mail from my g-mail account, but can't send. It'll go straight to the outbox and stuck there forever. What's up?

I solved my e-mail OUTGOING e-mails problem partially by doing the following:

1) Key in the damn password in the settings!
2) Set the outgoing e-mail connection to default, same as incoming. I think if set differently, there's some problem, (coz I have Easy Wifi, the name of my home wifi and the default connection).

E-mail can be send now, but attachment still doesn't work. I try to send a 400kb photo and it'll hang at the 'Send e-mail' progress bar....

Anyone managed to send e-mail attachment?

Never ever trust Sg Wang people. They tok cok, scam you cash and just plain too lazy to do anything extra for the customer.

I agreed. Especially when you try multitasking with Garmin running...almost guarantee to hang!

Anyway, i tried the GPS without the AGPS yesterday and today. Locking seems pretty good. About 3 minutes or less to get a locking.
