Even so, it is not entirely true...

Kuching and Kota Kinabalu does have malls that are comparable to those in Penang/Seremban or JB.

to be honest with u, i believe by association, our eastern counterparts will be labelled as ones who use magic for revenge..comparatively "more ganas" in physical way...(fromthe point of view of Orang semenanjung...)

im not that superstitious but there might be a little bit of truth...thanks to the history of that part of the country where black magic is still practised

but im an open minded person, i make friends with everyone really...its just thats its the traits of the "tribe" there

it is true that where there are a high concentration of illegal foreigners (filipinos from southern Philippines mostly) who build squatter colonies over the water surface, those places can be and are usually very dirty. Not just in smaller towns like Semporna, even KK has many of these. E.g. Pulau Gaya, behind UMS, beside Sutera Harbour...the authorities really need to do something about this. It's giving Sabah and Sabahans a very bad reputation. And we are not the culprits!

Yeap those are the sea gypsies or Bajau laut..They are not new in Sabah but enter in big numbers recently...Can't blame them as that's their culture 7 those houses on the sea can be promoted...The only thing is to educate those poor ppl without nationalities.

Sabah & Sulu (Jolo, Tawi-Tawi) are their traditional hometown no boundaries but 16/9/1963 cut off the nationality...dun blame them...blame the colonial power for invaded their home country

part of what you say is true. the Bajau laut are also know here as the Suluks and Tausug in the philippines. however, i worked among these people for 2 years teaching them literacy. organising clean up on the shoreline every friday. guess what, all they do i look and snigger. they say, "why are they cleaning it, tomorrow it will just come back." education has a role to play, but it's not so easy to implement and expect to see immediate results. neither will blaming the colonial power achieve anything, that's water under the bridge.

what we have is: here and now. the present authorities are not doing enough. lack of political will and too much hanky panky (korupsi). that's why i involve myself in social welfare, but i must admit, it's not for everyone.

what is your point TS?

you think the west is so develop ah?

Kuala pilah so modern???
kedah town got unlimited shopping kah?? all i see is padi field only
Rawang town so good ah???

In german 90% shop close at 5pm, they will lock the hotel after 10pm around blackforrest, if you stay in the hotel in blackforrest, you can hear the mosquito fly by, so do you call blackforrest in germany lagging behind??

And what so good about staying ahead anyway, love the way Kuching or Miri the way it is , cheap & delicious food around, low cost of living, when i think of KL my mind goes *&^%$#@!@#$, pay parking, pay toll, pay parking, can get 2 meal if i do not pay parkings and tolls.

KL sucks..

Took them years to clean up Kampung Air and Likas. Mainly just for getting the 'bandaraya' status.

Exactly. Also, especially because the two places you mentioned are on the Protocal Route which is used when driving dignitaries and vips to show them around the place. From the airport, all the way to the administrative centre in sulaman.

if your sticking point is because living expenses are high, then i have to agree. especially property and real estate in kota kinabalu is one of, if not THE most expensive in Malaysia.

Wow, din know u involve in educating themm notworthy.gif They really poor from what I saw...The worst those kesian chilfren staring at Mat Salleh asking for leftover lunch box they brought from Semporna..

Not easy task to educate those ppl, but on the other hand they are the ppl dorminating the Eastern coast of Sabah & Southern Philippine & there are no virtual boundary b4 16/9/1963
