for one thing, i don't feel the local equity market is affected much by national macroeconomic indicators/figures such as deficits, m4 money growth, inflation etc.. maybe there's a subtle difference only when the more important ones like BNM overnight rates or monthly manufacturing/export figures are announced.

no, it's about that amount there. but it's highly difficult to short sell certain stocks, like getting the banks to agree with someone else to borrow stocks to sell etc, barely anyone does it.

btw, i'm hoping tanjong would be a contra play sometime next week. keeping an eye thereeeee

doubt it. i feel the most important is the budget deficit. plus how the ringgit will hold up if the deficit is larger than 7.6%, things don't look rosy when you're in much debt
