Well with all the controls here, restrictions there, artificial intervention (MavCap, EKuinas, EPF bla bla)... our stocks are pretty much flat compared to other region... perhaps it explains why its only 87m?

Personally, I can't imagine myself trading on the Shanghai or HK exchange any time soon.

If i am not mistaken, under the new listing rules..

17.09.2009 - submission for registration.

Approximately +/- 40-60 days (if all goes well) from the date above.

maxis hard to apply.....only  few % to non bumi huh.gif

I dont think thats the real problem, most good companies (in this case Maxis) have major institutional clients each vying for a piece of Maxis. In this case Maxis probably (pick and mix) choose friendly institutions to be allocated a piece of the action.

Another perhaps would be other competiting institutions.. like asset management companies, high networth individuals with well greased connections, sovereign funds... with so much spotlight on Maxis... its kind of hard to miss.

There is only so much shares available to the public, don't be suprised the public only get scraps.

Free Float limit is 25% right?

Chillax cool2.gif , even if u get an IPO also doesnt make u 1000% richer?

In a true and fair world (assuming), with such good media coverage for MAxis... i doubt it even for the public at large its possible to even get above 5 or perhaps 10K shares.

Gravity will take hold once all the HU and the HA subside.

In the meantime buy TM, Axiata Digi lor tongue.gif

Maxis plans to list by mid-November

Maxis Junkies

If my math is correct and assuming the facts right

70% currently owned by Maxis dan rkn-rkn
leaving approximately 30% free float

according to the article

QUOTE
Of the 2.25 billion shares, 27.7 percent will be offered to institutional investors and the remaining to retail investors, according to a draft prospects posted on the market regulator’s website on Sept. 18.

27.7% to be allocated for institutions.

I am confused this 27.7% will be included in the 70% or the 30%... if the later wouldn't that leave free float around 2%? W?TF doh.gif

27.7% is including instituitional and retails

as those instituitional portion is considered as free float as well.

Corporate figures...

always have many different faces for many occassions.

Likewise...

its how we seperate ourselves between work and personal life.

Conclusion?

My 2 cents worth, the former being famous and all gets the limelight and ther latter gets none but in hindsight we both share similar characteristics

In the end as investors/traders alike, we only care about the bottom line of the company. How does that make us any better than them?
