The flow of passing was pretty bad. The players looked rather tired in the match. We squeezed that goal out but credits to the lads, they fought til the end.

Deco was horrible throughout the game. What a misfiring freekick and a silly back pass to sum up his performance. Ivanovic on the other hand loves to attack and don't get me wrong. I do love players at the flanks to attack but he forgets to return to his position most of the time, leaving it being exploited by Porto players.

Anelka was very lively in the match, kept the momentum running from the beginning of the match until the end. He did not once stop chasing after the ball, he went for it whenever he could. Zhirkov had nothing to shout about but I thought he did pretty well. Solid and kept his position well, what a combination of Zhirkov-Malouda-Anelka though. All from the left flank of the night. And I disagree with most of you guys about Mikel being less impressive in the match. His role is not to attack but a deep lying DM. In my opinion, he controlled the area pretty well and defended like he was asked. I do agree that the addition of Essien brought the game to another level but that was because of the anonymous Ballack of the night.

Furthermore, who says Cech is nothing good after the head injury? He looked very confident and aggressive last night. If it wasn't him, we would have gone 2-3 goals down. Yes, he did miss the hit-the-post shot by Belluschi but he was solid last night.

P/s: Joey deserves to start ahead of Deco for the next match.

Nowadays, not much people discuss about the match performance in details anymore? Unlike the past? Or you guys are only interested in next match line-up and rumours? That's a bit sad.
