AZ have been poor as the home side. No idea where some get the idea they are playing decently. Won't be surprised if we nick a few more.

More of the same please....AZ has been unbelievably crap that its been so comfortable for us IMO. I expected a much more physical game given Koeman's pre match comments. Hope we score a 2nd or 3rd asap then we can start resting our players for West Ham.

Aiyo I'm damn jealous of this guy providing the stream. He can just press a "red" button and a menu pops up with mini screens of all the matches and he can just choose any match he wants to watch. When will Astro reach this level lol

Well no one throws games away as spectacularly as Arsenal. Quite how we can throw games away having clearly dominated is beyond me.

And Olympiakos won at the last minute. Suddenly things aren't looking as comfortable already at the top.

Sigh guess we needed that result. A kick in the arse and a reminder to the lads that we aren't unbeatable.

QUOTE(kimhoong @ Oct 21 2009, 04:59 AM) OK, I'm off to bed... hope the lads learn their lesson. In context yes its 2 points dropped due to the circumstances and the manner in which we conceded but performance wise it was a fair result. We were nothing short of appalling in the 2nd half. AZ were poor in the 1st half and were still poor in the 2nd but we got complacent. I don't think we can even say we deserved the 3 points.BTW, if only Arsenal could be like AZ last 2 seasons ... ... ... good in possession and better "chances" (chance is better than luck in this context) at the end of the game... Anyway, it's more a two-point dropped rather than a-point gained for Arsenal 1-1 a fair result I should say. Added on October 21, 2009, 5:44 amOur Reserves drew 2-2 with Wolves. Nasri and Fabianski both emerged unscathed. Nasri had an assist to set up Sunu for the first goal. Match Report here This post has been edited by sigheart: Oct 21 2009, 05:44 AM |

QUOTE(Zan81 @ Oct 21 2009, 12:11 PM) I didn't watch the game, but we conceded from a long-punt freekick, header and then volley correct? (The reports didn't say who was outjumped though. Anyone can enlighten?) It wasn't a "who" it was the whole defence who got outjumped. No one even remotely challenged for the ball. The AZ dude, Pelle practically rose unchallenged. Gallas, Vermaelen, Diaby were closest and all 3 were ball watching and did not even attempt a jump. Song fell asleep as well on the 2nd ball. We just switched off on that set piece. Its a bit worrying this trend. I'm just guessing, but I think half our goals conceded this season was in this manner. Every manager going up against Arsenal probably knows this already and its especially worrying when we go up against teams with big, burly target men. Carlton Cole this weekend will be a major test for our defence. John Carew, Peter Crouch and Kenwyn Jones are a few strikers that will look to prosper against us and I dare not even think what Drogba can do! On another note I just don't understand some of the reaction on here. Seriously if you expect us to win every match then sorry. Stuff like that only happens in FIFA or fairy tales. A draw wasn't a bad result. It was a good result in fact. If you had given me a 2 wins including an away win and an away draw at this stage at the start of the season I would have bitten your hand off. Yes it might seem as 2 points dropped in context but a draw is just about the right result given how sh*t our performance was last night. No way in hell did we deserve the 3 points last night. Good result, poor performance. |
