to make thing easy,
I have 2 HDD
1st : XP
2nd : Win7
i cannot boot Win7 by itself if i dun have 1st HDD (able see choose windows after POST to choose the Win7 on the 2nd HDD).... my win7 (2nd HDD) cannot boot by itself if there is no 1st HDD ( it says, " Please insert disk, press enter to continue bla bla bla... " )

easier : i want to boot up my HDD that have WIN7 ALONE, but i cant...
maybe the win7 MBR is damaged. how about you reinstall the Win7 on ur second HDD? maybe will fix the MBR.I have 2 HDD
