Win7 partition 7 - Set to "Active" or not?

At bios, set the priority or not?

hemmm, to me, i do like this
1. install win xp on P1/D1
2. install win 7 on P2/D2 not boot from CD

windows 7 will edit win xp boot.ini replacing win 7. when startup, you able see choose windows after POST

to make thing easy,

I have 2 HDD

1st : XP
2nd : Win7

i cannot boot Win7 by itself if i dun have 1st HDD (able see choose windows after POST to choose the Win7 on the 2nd HDD).... my win7 (2nd HDD) cannot boot by itself if there is no 1st HDD ( it says, " Please insert disk, press enter to continue bla bla bla... " )

sweat.gif

easier : i want to boot up my HDD that have WIN7 ALONE, but i cant... sad.gif

maybe the win7 MBR is damaged. how about you reinstall the Win7 on ur second HDD? maybe will fix the MBR.

MBR damaged sometimes are caused by BAD SECTOR

you have HD tune rite? scan ur second HDD for bad sector.'

& did u enable search for other boot devices in bios?
