That's quite an interesting stat, is it from some financial institution or official government stat?

according to Credit Suisse Group AG’s latest global wealth report October 22nd, 2019
(3.7% was placed in the US$100,000 to US$1 million wealth band)
https://themalaysianreserve.com/2019/10/22/...wealth-bracket/

Credit Suisse also said an adult only needs US$4,210 (abt RM17k) in assets after subtracting debts to be counted as among the wealthiest half of the world as of mid-2018.
(RM17k net worth is as among the wealthiest half of the world as of mid-2018.)

“However, a person needs at least US$93,170 to belong to the top 10 per cent of global wealth holders and US$871,320 to be a member of the top 1 per cent.
(3.7% of adults malaysian populations belong to the top 10 per cent of global wealth holders?)

Hello!! Any sifu can help me analyse or advise what I can do  cry.gif
Sorry in advance ... I really log in here just to ask this thing coz a bit lost and don't have anyone that I can talk to about this IRL.
I don’t know how to count my net worth ….  but these are what I have currently.

Assets/Liabilities

Age: 2X (sorry age is very sensitive for ladies)
Marital Status: not married yet
Income: N/A ...

House value about RM550K
Savings plan premium RM20K
Cash on hand RM80K

Outstanding house loan (30 years??) about ~RM343K
Outstanding premium to pay (20 years??) about ~RM180K
PTPTN outstanding loan (15 years??) about ~RM32K

Min. monthly expenses/commitments/loan/etc ~RM6K++
Credit cards no outstanding balance.

For ptptn, should I aim to pay it off fully now or slowly? What is my situation? Is it bad T_T

I very sad and stress at the moment =((( Now no income and previously before MCO I had RM100K+ cash… After that the bank account start bleeding ad and recently no more income ad. I wanted to aim for RM1mil before 30yo but I have to be realistic right, I don’t really have investment or a high paying job or business and still supporting my family... I only started to have a saving plan with insurance company earlier this year.. but not sure if I want to continue coz need to wait 20 years for maturity. I did it because I feel I am not good at saving money and just in case I foreveralone + bad financial management, at least i have some extra cash at 4X years old. They say ladies just marry and depend on husband can ad but I don't want be like that.. My next steps not sure yet, don't even know if I qualify to venture into business with my situation or not plus business is serious, need careful planning/research etc. Previously work outstation, now not sure want to continue study or work but I really don't like uni life la.. Sorry for the long text.. I am thinking about worst case scenarios right now..

Can you guys advise me please.. Thank you so much in advance..

Your net worth, quite simply, is the dollar amount of your assets minus all your debts.
You can calculate your net worth by subtracting your liabilities (debts) from your assets.
If your assets exceed your liabilities, you will have a positive net worth.
Conversely, if your liabilities are greater than your assets, you will have a negative net worth.

QUOTE(cmk96 @ Sep 26 2021, 10:48 PM)
whats the difference with "nett worth"?
*
according to wikipedia.....

Companies
Net worth in business is also referred to as equity.
It is generally based on the value of all assets and liabilities at the carrying value which is the value as expressed on the financial statements.
To the extent items on the balance sheet do not express their true (market) value, the net worth will also be inaccurate.
On reading the balance sheet, if the accumulated losses exceed the shareholder's equity, net worth becomes negative.

Net worth in this formulation does not express the market value of a firm; a firm may be worth more (or less) if sold with a going concern.

Net worth vs. debt is a significant aspect of business loans. Business owners are required to "trade on equity" in order to further increase their net worth.

Individuals
For individuals, net worth or wealth refers to an individual's net economic position: the value of the individual's assets minus liabilities.
Examples of assets that an individual would factor into their net worth include retirement accounts, other investments, home(s), and vehicles.
Liabilities include both secured debt (such as a home mortgage) and unsecured debt (such as consumer debt or personal loans).
Typically intangible assets such as educational degrees are not factored into net worth, even though such assets positively contribute to one's overall financial position.

For a deceased individual, net worth can be used for the value of their estate when in probate.

Individuals with considerable net worth are described in the financial services industry as high-net-worth individuals and ultra high-net-worth individuals.

In personal finance, knowing an individual's net worth can be important to understand their current financial standing and give a reference point for measuring future financial progress.

Geeee, sorry to hear that,
To feel better, try think of it as tuition fees or paid for lesson learnt..... Good that you managed to recoup those losses with ease.
So for the past 10 yrs, you parked in bank fd only?
No right or wrong, you do not want to hv the possibility of losing money n are ok with the returns of fd,... Then it is ok for it suits Yr risk appetite.
Maybe you can try explore sspn prime deposits... Abt 4%, (no lock in period) or epf self contribution at abt 5-6% (with lock in period),... Both are govt guaranteed.

how can insurance products or investment products from bank can lose so much? (how many % did you lose on their investment products?)...did you close the insurance product prematurely?
or you Sailang all your 400k into it?? (10% of 400k is 40k) sweat.gif
