I think now only worth USD50 or USD500. need to login and see. Can't remember how much.

So nice to be U both eh.
I lost money during BTC crash on 2021. Then I lost again this year when BTC crash from 70k to 50k.

I shouldn't trust my friends too much keep brainwashing saying BTC will exceed 74k.

BTW, I lost due to liquidation mostly
*
I don't invest in those stuff. I got free bitcoin so just keep lo.

I am free cash flow investor. I make sure got money coming in like every week. The money coming in will be used to invest when there are opportunities (when market dip). If no opportunities, just continue to accumulate.

agree, first 100k is important to do any significant investment. bu our first 100k is mostly use to pay for mistakes in life, especially those who don't have parents or seniors to give us good financial knowledge.

after paid years and some tuition fee, only then can slowly climb.

early years pot of money, best to keep and educate yourself what to do first, put in epf or fd also ok (than losing it), don't listen to property sifu, forex sifu, mlm sifu, insurance sifu on what to do with your money.
*
I feel 100k useless. I think 500k is where you will pickup speed.

Then you need to go into survival mode. Spend the bare minimal. Eat one meal a day. Buy reduce to clear food and vegetables from hypermarket.

Cause you need the money. Delete all Instagram. Start watching youtube to learn trading skills or start doing odd jobs or grab food in the meantime.

Go look up fiverr and start doing free lancing work

Don't be greedy. When you got no more coming in most of the time you will be desperate.

QUOTE(gashout @ Nov 14 2024, 05:59 AM)
continue our discussion, i received an email this morning, titled - i am going to die soon.

a guy, who has been very active in our community, developed prostate cancer in 2022, and been very aggressive and spread to other parts of his body. doctor has given him weeks, or max 2 mths to be alive.

life is short, apart from financial health, we have other health to focus on - physical health, relationship health, work health, and spiritual health. we need to focus on them too.

i went to bed feeling down last night. im thinking a lot this week - one death is pending, one person gets bullied (and think deserved it), and one gets promoted. how much we are taking in superficial credits in this life, feeling proud about it, then die.

sorry for my rant.

That's why I spend quite a lot of my money on healthy aging. What's the point got money but not using money to take care of your own health.

If you can afford avocado, high quality extra virgin olive oil, broccoli sprouts, wild blueberries, buy and take them.

are you trying to say that poor people cannot live healthily?  since you associate healthy aging with a lot of money spending.  biggrin.gif

or is just you trying to comfort yourself?
just do what we can control - which is eat moderately, drink plain water, sleep enough, exercise body and brain, stay away from high risk danger zone/thing.

the rest - leave it to god.
*
No. But you can boost your health if you have more money. For me health is wealth so I will try to be as healthy as possible.

glad you realize that.... not like some ktards who think they are very special and will definitely and surely live way past 80.

i just took the picture verbatim from some website and it was written there to be 90.

i personally always set my expected lifespan at 80, ever since i went to uni. 80 is a good number and easy to divide and calculate a lot of stuff.
also, one need to realize that the last 10 diamonds are worser quality than the middle 10 diamonds. Plus I have used up the most valuable diamonds already, which is the 3rd and 4th row's. sad...  cry.gif

There is this thing call healthy aging. Wealth without health is useless. Unfortunately Malaysian medical system is not practicing preventive medicine.

So take matters into your own hand, start fasting, start lifting weights, start using monkeybar, have good sleep, eat the right food. I don't focus fully on wealth alone.

IBKR. You can buy any bond from there except Malaysian bonds without any middle man (banks)

Any idea if IBRK allows fractional bond purchase and how the buy back works ?

I don't think can buy fractional bonds. Buy back is like how you buy the bond. Buy and sell on bond market. Bypassing the banks.

QUOTE(PseudomonasSA @ Jul 13 2025, 08:06 PM)
Wondering if anyone has had experience working in Australia private healthcare system? Is it worthwhile to leave permanent jobs in the UK to pursue opportunities there?

Wife and I are medical consultants in the UK. There are opportunities in Australia (area of need) - about 2.5 hours driving from Perth. Expected monthly is said to be 4 times UK's net of taxes (full-time consultant pay in the UK is about £5k / RM 25k per person; Mortgage/council tax/utility bills £3k, excluding foods, travel, petrol/diesel). However, income in Australia is based on volumes of work done (contracts) and can be less secure than public-funded jobs (permanent jobs like in Malaysia) in the UK. Yet, UK has extremely heavy tax burden since recent years. After working for more than 10 years in the UK, our assets are about £80k in house equity, 2 fully paid cars (used), £20k savings, £5k investments, after paying for holidays/frequent flights to Malaysia to visit family members

Thank you!!

Got one friend working as RMO earns around AUD8k/month post tax. Not PR yet. Once PR you will have tax bracket and tax on all worldwide income. Non PR flat rate 35% on income in Australia only excluding worldwide income.

Can check YouTube.

He mentioned about consultant pay.

Hope that helps.

Can share for learnings like which Blackrock or Amundi hedge funds?

Really curious as how these funds works differently then the usual trust funds. The performance and requirements to purchase etc

It's unit trust but make it exclusively for accredited investor. Sometimes the fund performance is bad You can see it yourself on FSM SG.

You need to filter out the fund which is available for accredited investor under fund selection for fsm sg. Whether they are hedge fund or not, don't know. From what I saw before it is ust unit trust.

However sg unit trust memang higher quality then ours.
