QUOTE(silver_de_gene @ Oct 21 2009, 03:07 AM) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « which one gives more bokeh? 1) a prime lens 50mm set to a big aperture at 1.4 or 2) a telephoto lens zoom at 200mm aperture 5.6 i just wanted to know if i want great bokeh/DoF, which should i prioritize 1st? aperture or focal length? and if i have both 50mm 1.4 and 70-200mm 3.5-5.6 lenses, which ones should i use in order to get the greatest DoF? thanks a lot... and different focal length gives different angle of photo. (eg. fish eye makes our face 'round' and telephoto at 90mm makes our face look flat). Example from Wikipediawikipedia. ![]() |

for me,i rather take good photo using A or S mode,i only use MANUAL when i take photo with flash so that the flash can correct the exposure.
For outdoor,i prefer you guys to use S. set optimum shutter speed ,then let the camera decide the aperture, its much faster like this.and make sure your EV is correct, sometimes need to push until +1.0.good luck |

QUOTE(iXora.ix @ Oct 24 2009, 10:33 PM) thx for da info.. i hav seen some photographer take picture on sunny place using flash... i use flash during sunny place too, in event, we dont know where the position of the 'subject' if he or she againts the sunlight, then habis lor, need flash light to highlight the subject. anyways, sunny place with flash is quite hard with body that doesnt have AUTO FP. last time when i use with d40x without auto fp, sometimes my picture become overexposed at first..i say maybe they show off their flashgun...when i get this info now i know they do :0 |
