The second pic looks sharp enough for me, the first pic I have no idea why you will choose to use f36. Such aperture value will cause sharpness to drop.

QUOTE(zellleonhart @ Dec 7 2009, 12:08 PM) No im using Nissin Di622 with a bounce card. The showgirl is not underexposed, but the background is underexposed. ISO i used 400, aperture lowest possible (F5.6 i think), shutter speed i manually put 1/50, and that's the lowest speed i can handheld with least handshake. here's the outcome: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « i can't get photo like this: (not my photo) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « So i think either it's because i dont have a prime lens, or my D40 noise control is weak (ISO 800 is very noisy) or i dont have a good bounce card. But i think it's because of the noise control though, i should have used ISO 800 =( or get a prime.. Slower shutter speed bring in more ambient light, so it will help getting the background expose even more.

QUOTE(Firdaus92 @ Dec 8 2009, 04:25 PM) Guys~ a 35mm f/1.8G or AFS 50mm f/1.4 is better for wedding??Anyone letting their AFS 50mm f/1.4 for rm800+? Or is it better if I just buy Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 by selling my current kit lens~ It depends on what range you need. For me, 50mm on crop sensor is a bit tight, even the 35mm I also feel tight.

QUOTE(illegaldragon87 @ Dec 9 2009, 12:00 AM) IMO, itz not really a good idea to buy 50mm 1.8 if u r using D40/D60/D3000/D5000... coz afte the user buy it, he/she surely say regret for not getting a DSLR with built-in motor... after that they will hunt for DSLR with built-in motor... the incident happen to me and few of my frenz too... last time when i bought 50mm 1.8, i aso tot of using MF oni... but in reality, MF really slow u down a lot...  That's y I pick the 35. But mainly is 35mm much wider than 50mm. This post has been edited by shinjun: Dec 9 2009, 12:39 AM

(which i think not practical so far since i already had d 55-200) im more into portrait and event photog...and sumtime do landscape oso...thank in advance.... In that case, Tammy 17-50 f2.8 VC suits u the most.

QUOTE(yushin @ Dec 12 2009, 08:32 AM) Is there any software that can edit Nikon's NEF files? Looks like Nikon don't provide raw editing tool like Canon's DPP... Added on December 12, 2009, 8:41 amD3 + 24-70G I think Nikon got the Capture NX. I myself use Lightroom2 to edit the RAW file.

QUOTE(yushin @ Dec 13 2009, 05:35 PM) Today I go to the shop to try 50 F1.4D and 50 F1.4G. The D lens is sharper @1.4 + some CA. G lens don't much as heavy CA. At 2.8, they're almost same. After much consideration, I bought a Nissin Di866 instead. ha ha ha. Will start hunting for 2nd hand AFD 50 F1.4 as I'm not in a hurry to get it. Get the Sigmalux 50mm 1.4 le.
