Jason : its actually up to ur preference la.. but there are some angles that probably will be easier to shoot if you have liveview, instead of doing some yoga poses. hehehe.

Irishcoffee : i just tested .... shooting RAW + jpeg with a300 + sony 133x CF... preview time was like 1 or 2 sec max.
