Rahman, could you possibly have access to stuff not on their website? Any stockists you personally know, that sell authentic FP with a huge variety? I find some things on FP.com not available on ASOS and vice versa.

I want this, but in an S or M.

Hmm... no Rahman. I can't get anything from there. Shipping of 25 pounds is enough for 5 good meals. Can't let that happen bro.

Sigh. Looks like FP.com is the only way.

In my opinion shipping of 25 pounds is offset partially from the 20% vat rebate, as such its still quite affordable. Plus they deliver by Fedex, which in my experience is much faster and reliable than DHL.

rahman,

http://en.item.rakuten.com/clozest/10000474/

reckon this shop in rakuten is legit? they do have a huge variety of FP, all never seen before. do FP in japan have their own discretion in designing their own stuff? they seem to have a looooooot of awesome FPs in all colours and makes.

i kinda like this one so bad... http://en.item.rakuten.com/mix/frp-3055/ the first one.

Put aside the question of authenticity, do you know?

-Figgie International completes sale of its London-based Fred Perry Sportswear business in 1995

-Fred Perry Sportswear business is now fully-owned by Hit Union Co Ltd of Osaka, Japan

-Fred Perry Ltd of UK operates as a subsidiary of Hit Union Co Ltd

-A Singapore company licensed to produce Fred Perry apparels subcontracted the production to China

-The apparels produced were parallel-imported to Japan

-This leads to a court case and implementation of new law in Japan to protect the trademark owner

QUOTE
Hi everyone!

Thanks for your persistent support and continual discussion to the benefit of all consumers by everyone in the hardwarezone forum or here.

Here's a personal message from myself to every of my buyers, critics and non-believers:

1. Authenticity

1.1 Credible supplier

These old stocks once posted were from a UK wholesaler, destined to be exported in parallel to South American market. They have been a credible source and own distributorship rights to North American markets but not Asia, which explains why I can't openly declare their identity as it would have been a breach of contract. As Fred Perry fans can attest to, in the recent two years, Fred Perry had revamped their buttons, wash tags and cutting, these old stocks became impasse and thus one of my buyers spotted the deal and hopped on the bandwagon to give it a try.

1.2 Quality

It had been guaranteed by the supplier and my purchaser and I had strongly advocated that you can bring your Fred Perry polo to any boutique to verify its authenticity. However, we can't bring in recent designs and latest batches of Fred Perry because we honour the distributorship rights of Amnesty, also Singapore's official distributor. These old stocks are meant for fred perry lovers who might love the old colours and designs that cannot be found in the boutiques.

1.3 Rights

Most importantly, on the basis of distributorship, my company is not an official distributor. So actually if you are aware of business law, my company assumes the role of a reseller. As a reseller, I had personally met customers to ensure that they are fully satisfied before purchases.

2. Purpose

2.1 Target

We target students as our main customers as we believe that fashion is expensive (for the great designs and professional designers working 24/7) yet we believe everyone should have an avenue to looking good. Affordable prices, which are already very attractive considering its cost are provided. And we encouraged those who can afford them not to discriminate against people who want to own a Fred Perry too but not willing to splurge in boutique.

2.2 Property Rights

We respect property rights and would not have advertised or even bought the old stocks if they are not genuine. We would do better bringing in new designs to appease everyone but at the expense of the local distributor who had been affected more by online shopping platforms like asos.com. If you love the real thing and respect property rights, get at the boutique. For designs not available, then order online.

That summarized what I wanted to express on behalf of everyone in the company. I am very pleased that in-depth discussion are held and respect the hardworking souls sharing information that renders everyone a more well-informed customer, which also explains why I always add the link to discussion thread by rahman to interested buyers for their perusal since the discussion begun.

Right now, we are overseas meeting wholesalers of different apparels. If you have any feedbacks, do post anywhere here be it negative or positive cos no views are stupid smile.gif We realised we had been too silent as one of my buyers smsed me tonight, prompting me to take a look at the discussion. Also please inform us here of which aspect of the polo you think is not genuine so that we can immediately feedback to our supplier for their replies.

Thank you for all your kind attention! smile.gif

Best Regards,

Damion

Dearest all,

Let us look at the positive side, the user damiontay, is bringing in cheap and affordable apparels for the benefit of everyone. However, I would like to bring his attention and for all aspiring sellers of the potential risks ahead.

Despite assurance from supplier that the apparels are authentic & from credible source, the resller should be hold liable for all problems arised since they're the one who imported these stocks. It does not work by pushing the blame/fault to supplier when something goes wrong (such as the hoo-haa created by Mistic, junkieboy / Brannington and juno-EE)

Regarding authenticity verifications at Fred Perry boutiques, do consider the following: How qualified are the staff (Few full-timers and mostly part-timers)? Do note that there're good replicas in the market though still not 1:1 compared to the authentic ones. PM me for detailed analysis of the fakes.

Even if the stocks are truly authentic as claimed, it is illegal to import them for resale without proper licensing from Fred Perry. To recall, I have previously shared on HWZ regarding a Singapore registered company who parallel imported Fred Perry stuff and got sued by Fred Perry. They lost the case twice, including the appealed case.

I reckon everyone including myself love to buy good stuff at good price however do beware of where you are getting from and who you are dealing with. My last advice to damiontay is I do not think anyone out there want to pin-point or bombard you; nothing personal. Do accept constructive feedback, deal with them in a mature manner and all this is part of the learning process.

Welcome all constructive feedback/comments.

Same purpose as before i.e. to alert everyone of the fakes available in the market. Quality wise improved but still not 1:1 to the original.

Rahman is hesitating whether or not to post a detailed comparisons of the fake & authentic, with pictures & descriptions.

I said I didn't get what you posted in the last page, about some guy trying to bring in FP and sell it or summat like that

A blogshop seller who claimed to sell authentic FP however for unknown reasons, blog was closed.

As a matter of fact, from time to time there will definitely be new seller evolving selling fakes.

Some whom admitted its a fake while some who attempt to sell fake as real. Rahman hope that

by educating FP fans/fans-to-be of the fakes will deter them from being cheated.

Yeah, probably u can drop subtle hints. I know what you're trying to get at, but I read somewhere, lots of fake manufacturers actually scour these forums to improve their products.

These people are seriously pro at what they do... sometimes I just respect them in that way...

Anyway, good news for everyone, so I thought I'd share. FP could never be cheaper!! Today only.

25% discount on all Fred Perrys! Here: http://bit.ly/fredperryfan with code -pm me for code- . This is the last day!

Added on May 29, 2011, 10:56 pmThat's 25% plus a 20% for VAT refund I think. I think la. Hope the discounts stack biggrin.gif

Thanks for the head up. Yes I've the code too. Anw one thing I do not like about Endclothing is they'll not include the original dustbag for FP.

Not harsh at all IMO; I just can't tolerate anyone selling fakes. Alhough I am confident that his stocks are non-authentic, the door are wide open for him to clarify (Rahman could have wrongly accused him)

He did so with a 579 words reply on his blog (View his reply and my response at http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showpost...&postcount=5768)

As of today the seller has yet to get back to a simple request by melv in his chatbox (View screen capture at http://www.photolap.com/free-photo-sharing...938untitled.GIF). Assuming he have missed out that question, I even reminded him in his thread (http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showpost...07&postcount=11).

Its simply fishy since he've the time to write the 579 words reply but could not response to the simple request plus his blog was shuted down for unknown reason.

Depends, hopefully not.

QUOTE
Recently I received a “Notis Tahanan & Perlatikan Agen (PK1)” (refer figure1) from EMS to asked me go to collect my parcel from Custom Department. The parcel is sent by my vendor from USA.

user posted image

Why My Parcel Onhold at Custom Department?
Ans: The AWB [USPS-United States Postal Service] on top of the parcel show the Total Value of $300USD++ (Approximately RM1K++) in which exceeded RM500 (will be taxable). The parcel shown as “High-value goods” when I check through the EMS tracking shipment page.

Others reason may due to the customs needs proof of the parcel exact value rather than based on the value written on your AWB. In this case, you need to present the official or commercial invoice to make the declaration for your parcel.

The others methods will be, asked your sender to put the invoice in between or beneath the AWB to show the value of your parcel without sending it personally to you.

How much I will be charged on top of that?

Ans: According to custom officer, sanitary cloth pads (HS Code: 6307.90.100) required 20% import duty + 10% sales tax + RM49.80 (EMS delivery charges??!!). Total up, cost me nearly RM450. Woww !!! I get shocked because I didn’t expected it will be so expensive.

What action I had took?

Ans: I returned back the parcel to my vendor instead let the custom department suck my blood! The custom officer allowed me to return it back to my vendor by written “Return to Sender” + Signature + written down my IC in the custom printout form. The custom officer told me they will sent it back using the same method as the vendor shipped to me and the shipping cost will revert back to my vendor. I am not able to shipped the parcel back to my vendor using my own PosLaju account because the parcel did not release to me and still held in custom department.
What I had learned from this incident?

1) There are import rate + sales tax applied on top of the imported parcel / merchandise which exceeded RM500. Check properly for the import item categories as taxable or non-taxable items. [Customs Tarrif]

2) Custom officer required the official invoice for custom declaration. As an additional proof, they also need you to provide them with your payment receipt to show them the exact amount you pay to your vendor/sender in case they do not believed the value/amount stated inside the invoice [I faced this issue as 1 middle aged lady from the custom threaten me that I will be compound by showing the make up invoice with no concrete proof {*speechless*}, that is why I returned back the parcel back to my sender]. They encourage the user to make the payment via credit card through paypal so that to show them the email by paypal as proof.

3) You may request your shipper/sender provides you with a commercial invoice as a proof to the custom department for the value of the parcel. You may refer or download the SAMPLE OF COMMERCIAL INVOICE HERE. It is advisable to place your commercial invoice together with your AWB so that custom officer easy to find it.
