what's the pros/cons for this phone??

to remove the Optus Zoo icon on the right~ you need to debrand/unlock it~ use A2uploader, but I'm not sure it supports Aino or not~ extra info, Optus Zoo is a carrier from Aus~ I'm not sure about changing the shortcut thou~ I'm still new to modding~

If ur ap phone is from optus or vodafone (any other telco from oversea), do not update the phone firmware urself using software updater.. the phone will be sim locked then u will need to send back to warranty

so, if it is other than the two company, firmware update can be done?

Currently A2 doesn't supports Aino. Though it's mentioned that very soon it'll support. The only current method to flashin aino is through SEtools.


Seems Aino had one more major problem i notice. The volume control sensor on the headset works only from time to time. I myself have got it to work only two times only ever since i bought it 2 mths till now.

I've browse through some of the china bbs and some of the forums and most had these funny problem. Some suggest pausing the song and resume it will solve the problem but for my case doing this didnt solve it. Some had believe that it's the firmware that's causing the problem.
I guess i'll bring it down to the service center one day to do something about it.
Probably after i get some preventive measurement done on my phone.

I've come to learn that service center will occassionally steal parts from your phone while repairing it. Probably a few resistors or some unnoticed parts off the board. That's y some phones that are brought to service center to be service will have more problem after a year.

Added on January 15, 2010, 11:14 amI've tried once update my phone OTA when it still branded~ nothing happened thou... but still is risky since I saw many ppl telling us not to..
there are many carrier company : orange, voda, optus, maxis, celcom, digi, t-mobile, sprint, many many more~ some of them got locked sim, some of them not~ better not take the chance~

Cons: Capacitive touch screen limited to Media interface (I personally don't have a problem with this though) , no Xenon flash, no 3.5mm jack, no proper document viewer/editor, no privacy for media (no easy way to hide private content)

I didn't mention anything about build quality because it varies from one owner to another

well i dun think so, for my family have both Aino and W995, W995 audio experience is way better than Aino~
I hope there is a hack to make the whole UI touch enable~ that would be sweet!!!

yep. easy only. just turn on aino bluetooth and the headset as well. then search to add device
