Aino -1 for not having Clear Bass, I was planning to get it before I found out it only has Megabass. That's a deal breaker for an audiophile like me :-( Absolutely in love with the Japanese design though

The cool charging dock for both the phone and the bluetooth headset

@doomx
You might wanna detach it from the dock and just bring the charger cable if you want to travel light thumbup.gif

Don't think it's gonna be above 2k according to similarly quoted prices within the APAC countries so far. Price indication is around 1.8k-1.9k. And for all the bundled accessories, that's a bargain though I wonder SE did it at what cost since it's quite unlike them

Except the Aino isn't a smartphone.

I believe the touchscreen is limited to the multimedia menu only, so chances are we can't use touchscreen for web surfing.

*
AFAIK the default browser isn't touch-enabled but OperaMini 5 browser is on Aino which is excellent news rclxms.gif

http://www.eprice.com.tw/mobile/talk/?prod...385&tid=4258732

Maybe even the default browser would be touch-enabled with a couple of firmware releases hopefuly.

Now the only thing that bothers me with Aino is no Clear Bass or I would've been sold completely doh.gif

yup, OperaMini 5 browser can do magic during navigation.

and it is a freeware biggrin.gif

p/s: btw mode893, are you selling your W995 for Aino? i still having doubt on its 8MP.
*
Wah, you read my mind! That was my plan earlier until I found out...it only has Megabass. Not a biggie to many but a deal breaker to me cry.gif I'm not too worried about the cam, it has to be better than W995 (I'm a sucker for hope) and as I have posted countless times before in the W995 thread, the cam is great, even better oso than Innov8 in some conditions, so Aino should be able to perform just as good if not better wink.gif

thanks for the info bro but..

what do u mean the keys are quite hard to reach?

does the touch screen responsive or not?
*
It's not a limited touch smartphone, that would be a wrong move for SE since it already has Satio. It's a high end feature phone with media touch capabilities. There a million other full touch and full keypad interface out there, why must
SE produce just another similar phone? They might suit you if Aino doesn't tickle your fancy For me Aino is a good choice because I can't stand a touchscreen phone. To me an entry level keypad phone is more of a real phone that the highest end touch phone which seems more like a gadget. But I do like to browse the internet with touch and view picture galleries, flip through my my music with a flicker of a finger, you know, the light stuff so Aino seems to be a slick solution with its simplicity and without the baggage of a smartphone that are mostly complicated and slow nod.gif

but what the use of putting a touch screen and not using it?
It already has the hardware.....it can be a full touch screen phone with keypad!

correct me if Im wrong....
this phone has almost the same features as the c905 except for the playstation control thing which actually is only some extra software....
Ur gona pay 800 bucks more for the program and the semi touch screen which doesn't matter!
unless u can use the touch screen for browsing and GPS,I dont think its worth the price.
*
The better features compared to C905:
-Better Processor
-Bigger RAM
-Much bigger screen with superb resolution and 16m colours
-Brand new media interface
-Touch enabled media
-7.6mbps HSDPA
-2.0mbps HSUPA
-Walkman 4.0
-Touch focus camera
-VGA 30fps video recording
-Superb audio with Clear Bass technology
-Better GPS receiver
-Charging dock
-Bluetooth handsfree headset
-8gb memory card bundled
-PS3 compatible media sharing
-touch web browsing
The list goes on if we look even closer bro, and I personally won't be attracted if it was a touchscreen phone (which it isn't, so you should probably just look elsewhere) just like so many other touchscreen mobiles out there. And to cap it all off, I remember sellers charging 2k+ for C905 during its release and it has build quality issues while the Aino has more solid construction. So seriously, do you still think Aino has little over C905? Apparently not cool2.gif

so the question goes- do u nit to pay for the Assistance? for A-GPS?
if u are so smart- u tell me, coz i dunno
im not flaming- i knw the reason the assistance- but my issue is, does it need to pay? for the service
if GPS per se- tat shows direction n wat not, no nit to pay for any service....
but wat i know, with assistance, u nit to pay which is different in A-GPS than GPS itself.

tak tau wats the issue im saying, jangan la say ppl like tat...
*
Assisted GPS simply means you get Cell ID assistance from your network provider which may lock down your position within 10 seconds as opposed to normal triangulation which may take 30 secs to a few minutes. AFAIK all SE phones with GPS reciever allow you to switch off Assisted-GPS when you don't need it. If you have unlimited data plan, you won't have to pay for the Cell ID data charges your network sends to your phone. But the problem is if you're overseas, and if you have pre-loaded maps for navigation then the only thing you need is sattelite signal for GPS, but with A-GPS, some data charges will incur from the local network that's tied to your network meaning you'll have to pay for it in that foreign currency. That's the only time you'll be paying for A-GPS and it may cost a bomb. No biggie, hope this answers your long standing question nod.gif

has someone posted up some photo samples taken by the Aino?

or did i miss out any post tongue.gif

Heard there's no WB and EV control which is really puzzling making it hard for it to claim its 8mp king throne aside from lack of Xenon. I guess the bewilderment of the Aino continues. Though I've seen some really impressive samples elsewhere thumbup.gif

one thing though  the aino instruction manual looks more like a giant fold up poster instead of a proper manual . lol

SE is currently the top company for Green initiatives, they supposedly save trees by lessening the use of paper. For the actual manuals we can download the pdf file from their site. Smart if you ask me, save cost and gain mileage wink.gif

what's the pros/cons for this phone??
*
Pros: 16m colour 3" capacitive touch screen, bundled bluetooth headset and 8GB sd micro, PS3-compatible for media content, 8MP camera with touch-focus, best Walkman audio for a phone in the market, minimalist Japanese design with docking station for charging drool.gif , pretty user interface, WiFi, GPS, radio without antenna with bundled headset

Cons: Capacitive touch screen limited to Media interface (I personally don't have a problem with this though) , no Xenon flash, no 3.5mm jack, no proper document viewer/editor, no privacy for media (no easy way to hide private content) sweat.gif

I didn't mention anything about build quality because it varies from one owner to another biggrin.gif
