I've gathered as much, but sometimes you cant tell from the posting who is which/what gender because it looks like either gender can post as such.
The Lost Symbol is awesome, as always. Up there in the same level as Dan's previous two books of the same vein. But it may appeal to Americans more than anyone else, because it revolves around the history of their country. The theme is universal, however. And strikes a chord with what I felt at that same moment too when I read it. Why must there be segreration of mankind into separate religions, when humans are made in the image of His Creator, and as long as he believes that, you don't have to any more devotion that the affirmation of that thought? I believe that religion is the reason why there is so much bloodshed in this world, because it is just like console fanboyism, my religion is so much better than you religion, so I'm always right/better than you. Replace "religion" with "console" and see what I meant. |

QUOTE(PhoenixByte @ Oct 7 2009, 12:46 PM) i believe religion is not the reason...it's the extremism in the religion's followers. What about the concept of "I believe there is a higher power, but not necessary want to specify/narrow it down to a particular theology"? In Brown's book, and essentially's the core foundation of the Freemasons, it is important to have faith in A Creator, but relisious discussion or pandering to a specific religion is not recommended. Freemasons believe on the concept of The Great Architech of the Universe as the placeholder for what every belief/religious system refer to as God. Once that is set in, nobody is wrong, and everyone is right. It is when people starts getting overly passionate about their faith and preaches it that fanatism sets in and all the bloodshed and extremism pours in.As an analogy, Just like in a console war, it's the fanboys. fanboys...they gloat what they have n says bukan2 about the other console. it doesn't have to be religion wise too, country wise or blind patriotism is dangerous too. Case in point, some ppl from our neighbouring country that wanna ganyang us. Just like how the "Beer = Rotan" incident is handled here, and the "opposition" from Islamic youth groups every time an international artiste decides to come over to perform locally here. I would classify that as extremism, but in a non-volatile way. You want volatile? Ask Noordin Mat Top, a bloody disgrace and blinded by his extremism of his faith. I believe that my faith is my own, and it is personal. I dont need someone shoving it down my throat all the time, or have the government making themselves look angelic or righteous by tyring to act like surrogate parents lecturing me about what I should and should not do based on what THEY BELIEVE what people of a certain faith should live their lives. That is an insult to my own intelligence and freedom of faith, which is supposedly held by the Malaysian consitution, but poorly proven to work. Just ask those who chose to denounce their faith and seek another, either to or from Islam specifically, in this country, and the problems they face. Hell, a born-Muslim gets demonized if he should ever even think of denouncing his borned-into faith or even questioning it. Faith about God, or if there is God for that matter, is personal. I always say that "it is between him/her and his/her God" when some religious quandary or crisis hits, which is true. Nobody should interfere, especially political-driven party or government or religious entities trying to make themselves look good. Like the case of the girl who drank beer, my response was "so what?" Who are we do punish her? IT is between her and her God, if she live by the belief of her faith, or a set of personal-embodied rules if she is atheist. The bloody ruckus those idiots are displaying all over the media locally and internationally is face-palming to say the least. |

I trust that this proves that being true to oneself is paramount. No point lying about yourself or living a lie.
It hurts sometimes but I'm better being me than being agreeable to everyone just to siphon kudos points. Finally got Scribblenauts and Mario & Luigi: Bowser Story. Even more time to pie-slice between backlogs too long to list. Whoopee. |

QUOTE(BlueBerry~ @ Oct 7 2009, 05:45 PM) I pre-ordered my Scribblenauts and KH. Arent you going Us this month? From your sig. Should be able to find KH there. Presonally I would prefer an NTSC KH rather than a PAL one. The US trip is kinda a road trip, and beloved is keeping me away from anything other than the trip itself. Dunno if can squeeze time out and sneak to a local BB or GS. |

QUOTE(BlueBerry~ @ Oct 7 2009, 06:00 PM) Yup. Melbourne's trip is later. Me being impatient wants it nao. QUOTE(gnsumas @ Oct 7 2009, 06:04 PM) You think she'd let me off easy like that? When you're away for a while, the bodies tend to "stick". We're driving from Atlantic City down to the Keys. Rest stops at motels or budget hotels in between. Finishing up in Sandusky to claim my last coaster theme park badge. It's pretty packed for the timeframe we've set so I don't think I have time to check things out. LAX, shitty as it is, is devoid of any videogames store until you blow past Sepulveda at least. The things you do for your love ones..... |

Noticed some of the folks here are waiting for a price drop or opted for a second hand Uncharted 2. I will be selling my copy later (R3) once I get the Fortune Hunter Edition in 2 days. First come first serve. The R3 copy is bought by and played by my bro now back in KL. Me still have not touched or played anything U2, with me being in the "possession" of "someone else" at this moment, and she would not let go.

From a long-known friend, of similar acquaintance and circle of family friend of the beloved's side. He worked on Gex and Legacy of Kain at Crystal Dynamics before, in which through his attachment to the industry, got me into the E3 in the year 2000. He's with ND right now in Santa Monica.
