Hey there fellow Hero owners! I've been an owner for close to 2 weeks now. Anyone of you experiencing the dead/bright pixel issue with the phone like these guys from Singapore? http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showthre...394322&page=195

To test your phone, simply snap a photo with the camera in pitch darkness (completely covering it works too). Set the display brightness to max and load the black photo fullscreen. Look for bright shimmery star-like dots in the screen, you may need to tilt the phone around to be able to spot them.

I can find 5 of these on my phone, one of which is very obvious. It appears to me they are increasing by the day as I know I had none when I first got the phone.

#UPDATE 13/10/2009 9.19AM
Called up SiS and they asked me to bring the phone in for checking and will 1 to 1 exchange it for me

Out of the blue question, is Celcom's HERO has Google Mail + Calendar + Contacts?
Yes, it is pretty much the same as any phone brought in by SiS. I know some others have asked before, the 16gb micro sd that came with the phone is only class 2. I turned it into a mini usb drive with a reader and bought a class 6 8gb for the phone. biggrin.gif

If you have an SIS unit with the stock ROM, the APN settings are preconfigured for you.

Have anyone use their Hero with the Celcom package and online all the time? I mean online for a month. Will it exceed the 5GB cap like we use to have in the Celcom mobile broadband if we turn on the 3g 24/7 for 1 month? Any idea?

I am planning to get the Hero with Celcom package next month.

I've been using for more than a month but I've never hit the 5gb limit (yet). My net connection is always on and I use it mostly for web browsing, twitter, emails, google maps, and some youtube. Once in a while I tether the connection to my pc for some light torrenting.
