havent done any updatin on the rom... but it's not laggy at all to my surprise. it's comparable to an iphone. it makes me wonder whether it comes with the new firmware, but i just checked the firmware and it's 1.5.
the guy said there's no need for screen protector cuz he said the screen is scratch resistant, but i doubt that anyway since i never read it anywhere on the internet that says the screen is scratch resistant.
no pouch or screen protector are included, only a 2gb micro sd is included.

hey, take a look at the touchHD(blackstone), it has almost the same specs as the hero, TouchHD have a bigger screen but a cheaper resistive touch screen but the hero has a more expensive capacitive screen yet hero only sells for 2.2 - 2.3K retail yet HD sells for 3.2K retail.

Now I wonder which HTC model has the same screen size as HTC Hero. I just came back from LYP and I can't find any that suits HTC Hero.

Magic is much more smaller compared to Hero :-(

With no casing, no screen protector it really makes me nervous XD

Until then, I'll probably wrap it with thin plastic wrapper.

On the other note, the HTC Hero comes with 1 year warranty. You might add another RM50 for an extended 1 year warranty, which then give you two years warranty.

i just googled whether the screen is scratch resistant, and i found that someone in xda wrote that the hero screen is made 'gorrilla glass', the same as the iphone's.

Well I guess the lagging is obvious only when you setup many widgets across the 7 scenes :-)

Oh what is the class of the supplied 2GB? Class 4 or 6?

Edit: Eh have you tested syncing contacts with Outlook? And how about downloading emails from office's email system (Outlook)?

i didnt sync with exchange, so i cant comment on that... but it syncs with bliss with google services.

FINALLY!

Now I have Android Market in my Hero after following this bit.ly/TVoUL exactly.

No problem at all. It's a smooth sailing for me. Now time to go to Market getting some groceries XD

Edit: Now I have my Hero exactly as I wanted. With Market :-) Just downloaded Linda.

Interestingly enough, my Hero is much more responsive now. I'd say the 2.73.405.5 update is so much faster compared to our update. SERIOUSLY.

You can get you settings (WAP, 3G and Internet) from here.

hey leviathan, from bit.ly/TVoUL... it seems that we needed a file manager to browse and open .apk file.
do you mind me askin where did you get linda? cuz i think linda is only available on android market and not slideme.
