Guys i need some help...Let me start,Im 17 dis year with weight @ 93kg/160cm tall!..I just joined gym 2 months back,my main intention is to lose weight and built up my muscle..But i dun want to look like those bulky/buff type..Just a normal body with muscle..So,last week the Trainer in my gym(celebrity fitness) told me that i should not do cardio and carrying weights together so that i wont be buff..He said just do cardio only for now until i burn enough fat!
But,my friend in the Fitness Concept(was an ex CF trainer) told me that that is all bullshit. He said to burn fat faster,i need to cardio and weight training together! Im now very confused guys...Helpp!! This post has been edited by faizpsp89: Feb 8 2010, 09:46 PM |

QUOTE(-Dan @ Feb 8 2010, 10:03 PM) But will i become buff?Btw,based on my own theory,if a person is fat and he carries weight he will become buff..Correct?About the weights, should i carry large weights?Usually ill do free weights with 10kg on each side..Good enough? QUOTE(ken86 @ Feb 8 2010, 10:12 PM) your theory is flawed. And yes you should carry heavy weights, do i look fat to you or anyone of us that actually lift some man weights look fat to you ? Sorry i meant by buff...wow more than 10kg's?..i tried 15kg on each side once, max i can do is 6-7 reps only 10kgs each side, I think my sister does more than that. What does all this trainer learn these days .. geez |

QUOTE(-Dan @ Feb 11 2010, 10:14 PM) There's nothing wrong with whey protein. It isn't some sort of drug. It is what it says it is, protein, more or less the same stuff you'd get from chicken, beef or fish, just in higher concentrations. So yes, if you don't mind spending, by all means get it. Alrite..it will boost up my muscle growth rite? |

QUOTE(Majinity @ Feb 12 2010, 09:30 PM) How you weight in pound? Calculate your protein intake daily according to that. 110lbs = 110grams of protein etc. Recommend on the 2x daily, although it depends on your gains. hey bro,im approx 198 lbs..so its around 198g of protein?I'm newb. Taking my supps on the morning, before bed, and after workout. |

QUOTE(atomizer @ Feb 12 2010, 10:32 PM) sometimes it also depends on ur budget.. some ppl cant afford taking those supplement too often cos it is damm expensive.. I think i 've made up my mind..Im gona take 2 times only per day...[1 in the morning and 1 after workout]For myself, i take once before workout and once after workout.. Btw another quick question,do i need to take the whey everyday(morning) or only take it when im going to gym on that particular day? I think ill have that 2 times per day only if im going to gym on that day..can rite?..So that the whey can last longer...I got mine for RM17+ for the biggest bottel(all my 1 month pocket money)..lol |

QUOTE(wildcat90 @ Feb 12 2010, 10:58 PM) For your protein intake, why don't you use your instincts? You definitely need to take it after you workout. As for other times, take it when you feel you've not consumed enough protein that day, if you feel sore before you sleep or if you anticipate that you'll be without food for the next several hours for some reasons. Nice one! Thanks man! |

QUOTE(diablokun @ Feb 12 2010, 11:38 PM) not trying to bring you down, but gaining muscle while cutting is rather hard...try google cutting and you'll know what i mean... Owh ic..Umm from what i heard, fat burner is not recommended for me..The trainer in Cf said that fat burners are all bullsh*t and waste of money.. my pov is, since you're a student, with a tight budget, get yourself a decent fat burner...that is if you have good diet...once you complete your cutting phase, then you can take protein... |

QUOTE(diablokun @ Feb 13 2010, 12:37 AM) lol...how in the hell that guy can be a trainer in the 1st place ?? lol i know rite..Like if u come to Cf Wangsa Maju, most of the trainers there r like trainers without certificate i think..Believe it or not, there is even a fat dude as a trainer there..Cf Wangsa Maju FTW! a fat burner basically : • works as an appetite controller • boost metabolisme rate to burn fat faster • carbs blocker • thermogenic and many more... The basic idea is that if they can raise your metabolism even a little bit, you will burn more calories each day, even while resting... actually, i don't think it's that easy to gain muscle and shred fats in the same time...it's either this or that, you can't have both mate... |
