QUOTE(anucia @ Nov 6 2009, 11:35 PM) My 1st day experience with DSLR. All shot on Automode anyway, my suggestion. As u get to know more abt ur dslr like getting to know what button does what and what does what, maybe when taking night shots, u can lower the exposure compensation a bit so the pic a bit darker then can just see the neon lights brightly shining. or another way, u jack up the EV a bit so that the scene is bright enough to see the buildings n others.D90, 18-55mm lens. Am learning, so feel free to "kutuk" ![]() ![]() ![]() of course, later u can make use of things like spot metering etc. this automode by all means is not wrong, just that in auto, the camera tries to make everything balanced. So like in the pic 1 n 2, the cam tries to make the dark buildings not too dark and the lights not too bright. for the 3rd pic, maybe can adjust composition a bit. Try to make use of the 2/3 rule. |

QUOTE(wzseow @ Nov 30 2009, 02:28 PM) Yeah I understand that original producs are better than 3rd party. but the price of sb900 is double that of di866 higher guide number means it has the PAWAAA! so if the location has a very high ceiling, or ur subject is far far away, it might still be able to reach. commander is the ability to command other flashes to fire.and it is almost 4 times more expensive than di622. but i think i will filter out 3rd party products. so i'm left with sb900, 800 or 600. what do you mean sb900's Guide Number is higher, and sb600 can't act as commander? |

QUOTE(HiroBoroi @ Nov 30 2009, 05:45 PM) Power is Nothing Without Control. yeap...thats right. you have to know how to use your flash regardless of how powerful it is. However, sb900 has the power when u really need it. And with great power comes great price.Uncle Ken showed one video on his site. I got curious and dig up the link. Click here for control. These guys used old Speedlights, SB-28s meant for film cameras. They use radio triggers. They also shoot flash using manual mode AND they don't shoot at full power. I think their pictures are awesome. Perhaps those of you who only buy ONE SB-900 should rethink the way you approach flash photography. |
