haha..its the older VR lens..the red colour VR word with no locking mechanism.. tongue.gif some1 sure is rich, keep upgrading..haha

jus sharing, older version is also utilizing the VRII system

QUOTE
VR II system offers the equivalent of using a shutter speed 4 stops faster.

sauce

i think nikon brand the new version as VRII to differentiate the new and old.

is SB900 very much better than nissin di866 or sb800 or sb600? if they are in the same performance level, should i fork out much more for sb900? budget is not exactly not a constraint, of coz it is  biggrin.gif

thanks in advance
*
imo, original products is always better than 3rd party. they will be more compatible with future nikon models than 3rd parties product.
sb900's Guide Number is higer than sb800 and sb600. sb600 can't act as a commander.
since you have the budget why not go for the best smile.gif

higher guide number means it has the PAWAAA! so if the location has a very high ceiling, or ur subject is far far away, it might still be able to reach. commander is the ability to command other flashes to fire.
