Player Ratings – Manchester United 2-1 Arsenal
Foster – 7 - Should have done better for the goal, but redeemed himself with a point blank save from van Persie which kept us in the game at 1-0. Still not convinced he can be our number 1. O’ Shea – 5 - Positioning poor on a couple of occasions. Didn’t really stand a chance against the excellent Arshavin. Brown – 7 - Impressive performance after so long injured. He’s slowly finding his form again as has been shown by his England call up. I do feel he’s better as a right back though. Vidic – 6 - Not his best game. Turned inside out by van Persie in the first half and failed to close Arshavin down for the goal. Evra – 7 - Never seems to have a bad game. Excellent in defense and in attack as always. Valencia – 6 - He kept it simple and didn’t try anything special. Could have attacked Clichy more and tried getting balls into the box, but a solid game nonetheless. Fletcher – 8 - Excellent performance from the Scot. He’ has become our best midfielder this season. I’m still unsure whether that’s a good or bad thing. Carrick – 5 - Shocking really. As simple as that. Needs to pull his finger out or face a long spell on the sidelines. Giggs – 6 - Awful in the first half. Gave away possession time and again. Rating higher than it would be due to him having a hand in both goals. Nani – 6 - His partnership with Evra on the left wing is developing well. Much of our good work (rare though it was) was done on the left flank. Rooney – 7 - Very isolated up front but stuck to his task and won the penalty. Kept his nerve to equalize from the spot. |

QUOTE(deora @ Aug 31 2009, 12:20 PM) agree with u quite much.. Replace Nani and Berba with Lennon and Defoe..?Why ? They are English, they are young ( 26 and below ), they are fast and they haven't bought by Manchester City yetbut for me.. valencia - after seeing him play a few matches..i started to wonder whether is he REALLY good enuf to play for man utd..during the arsenal game..he kena attacked by other players more than he attack other players..GG...well..only time will tell nani - eventhough many of u will still disagree with it..i still dont think the team can rely on him (yet?) ..always MIA when it matters the most (as usual)...zzz berba - his '30mil' shot during the last few mins against arsenal makes me lol..who cares if he got nice touches when he cant even shoot..lol yea..u might say when he and park came off the bench..our striking department look much 'sharper', for me..its more like arsenal are putting more men forwards and started to neglect their defensive department rather than our striking department turns 'sharper' i wonder where's our midfield creativity goin to come from...and what will happen if rooney is injured...who's gonna drag the whole team up |

David Gill gets top role
QUOTE David Gill has been elected into the top executive board of members in the European Club Association which, many of you might remember, was formed under the auspices of the UEFA following the dissolution of the G14. “I’m obviously very pleased to be elected,” Gill said. “The ECA has a very important role to play in the relationship with Uefa and other bodies within European and world football. We are the people who run the clubs, we understand the issues. All parties need to work together to come up with a set of rules and regulations that everyone buys into.” Perez added that he was: “Very happy to be able to work for the clubs inside the big European football family.” Florentino Perez’s influence (as someone known to favour a European super league) cannot be ignored, and it would be interesting to see what holds for the future of European club football in the coming years. http://redrants.com/david-gill-gets-top-role/ Added on September 8, 2009, 10:02 amManchester City's Carlos Tevez Set To Miss Arsenal & Manchester United Clashes QUOTE On Saturday, Manchester City and Argentina striker Carlos Tevez was in the lineup as his international side lost 3-1 to Brazil, putting Argentina closer to missing out on next summer's World Cup. The Argentine FA has now confirmed that the player also suffered a twisted right knee, which will likely rule him out of the Citizens' next two Premier League matches against Arsenal and Manchester United. He will also miss Argentina's vital qualifier in Paraguay on Wednesday. http://www.goal.com/en/news/9/england/2009...and-manchester-The 25-year-old ex-Boca Juniors star joins Robinho in the Eastlands treatment room, although City manager Mark Hughes is not lacking in depth up front as Emmanuel Adebayor and Craig Bellamy are both fit to start. The injury means that Tevez will not be available for his anticipated return to Old Trafford on September 20. Tevez spoke out publicly throughout last season about his lack of playing time for United, leading to an acrimonious departure and manager Sir Alex Ferguson's insistence that Tevez, who scored 34 times in 99 appearances for the club, was "not worth £25 million". Last month, Tevez further stoked the rivalry between the clubs by taking a swipe at Ferguson and insisting that the Red Devils were fearful of new-look City. "Ferguson is history for me but I know that he is scared of playing against us," the striker told Globoesporte. "It's dangerous for Ferguson's objectives and for him to criticise Manchester City." Manchester United face Fifa complaint from Fiorentina over Michele Fornasier transfer
QUOTE Football's governing body confirmed on Tuesday night that it was awaiting documentation from Fiorentina to trigger a formal complaint. Fornasier, who celebrated his 16th birthday last month, has been offered a contract by United after impressing while playing for the club in the Milk Cup tournament in Northern Ireland this summer. With Italian clubs unable to sign players until their 16th birthday, Fiorentina were unable to secure Fornasier to a binding contract prior to United's move and, as such, the grounds of their complaint to Fifa remain unclear. However, Fifa has confirmed that Fiorentina have already made contact ahead of a possible complaint against the Premier League champions. United, who have enlisted the help of the Football Association to secure an international transfer certificate for Empoli's Alberto Massacci, have threatened legal action against Le Havre should allegations of illegal inducements be repeated by the French club in relation to the teenager Paul Pogba. Despite Le Havre's complaints over United's recruitment of Pogba, the French club have yet to submit a formal complaint to Fifa. And Pogba's parents are now understood to be considering a libel action against the club following suggestions that they received money and a house from United to sweeten a deal for their son to join. Gaël Mahé, Pogba's representative, said: "No money had changed hands up front, though Paul will get a very good contract when he turns professional. "All he has got from United so far is a flat in Manchester for him and his mother to live in. We spent a long time ensuring that the document we signed with Manchester United was legally watertight." United chief executive David Gill said: "It is an insult by Le Havre to suggest that Manchester United have paid the players' parents and bought the parents a house. "We will not accept the good name of Manchester United being trawled around on websites and the press to say that we have done these things which we are not allowed to do and we would never do." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/...r-transfer.html This post has been edited by redevil: Sep 9 2009, 03:04 PM |
