i would not recommend using paypal unless u have ready funds in your paypal balance.

if u let paypal charge your credit card the exchange rate and fees is ridiculous.

Yes, you can use your Mastercard.

New release: Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive

QUOTE
Whether you bought the game, got the demo in a box of Kellogg's, or haven't even heard of it - here's your chance to visit the Wild West!

Go on a journey to New Mexico in 1881 as one of the six Desperados that are on the hunt for the train robbing "El Diablo." As John Cooper, the bounty hunter engage your enemies in a real time strategy game - think Commandos but with revolvers and a Wild West setting. Utilize each team member's unique skillset, ranging from carrying Gatling guns or faking a siesta to special equipment like Mia's monkey or Samuel with his love for TNT. Overcome the engaging missions with unique setting and scenery. Challenge the robust AI system which makes each try at a mission a unique experience.

Apart from the enemies, your heroes also have unique gameplay features like Quick Action which lets you bind a series of actions into one button, so you can shoot your enemies "John Wayne style".

So what game made you ride with the outlaws? It's Desperados, we think

Guilty Gear is at GoG? Who would have thought.

Heck, why not put a Final Fantasy game? Although I only remember 7 and 8 having a PC version.

UPDATED: Site Maintenance - Panic at the Disco edition

QUOTE
UPDATED: So if you read this post earlier (or if you scroll down and read it now) you’ll see that we announced that the site update was going to be tomorrow, and that the site was going to be down. We figured, given our kind of rocky history with site updates, that you guys might like to know in advance.

Good news, then! We’re giving you more advance notice than we thought. It turns out that there are a few pernicious bugs with the new GOG downloader that we need to fix, so we’re pushing back the site update until the 35th of April (to keep things still as promised as “late April”) or, if you’re determined to stick with your “Gregorian calendar,” the fifth of May.

We’re still on schedule to have a game release tomorrow, but because we’re shifting our schedule around to reflect the changes wrought by moving the site update there won’t be a game on Thursday. On the bright side, we’ll be seeing a new and improved version of an old friend back on the site Thursday, and man do we ever have a great week-long promo starting for you guys tomorrow.

Unless we have to move it or something. wink.gif

ORIGINAL POST: If you watched our presentation at CDP Days, you know that we have a plethora—a veritable cornucopia—of new and exciting site updates coming in late April. As late April is upon us, we'll be implementing those updates on GOG.com soon. Wednesday, to be exact.

As a result, we need to take the website down for a few hours to get all of our servers dusted and our databases lined up in rows. We're expecting the downtime to be sometime around 3AM EDT (or 7AM GMT) and should only be a few hours.

Also, because we want to encourage you to come to GOG.com and check out the new site features on Wednesday when they go live, we're holding our Tuesday game release to go out on Wednesday. So check back in at GOG.com on Wednesday (not too early, mind you) and check out the new digs!

I believe this is a clever ploy by GOG.com to tell its gamers that they can easily bypass certain countries' restriction & regulations by registering themselves under other countries. rolleyes.gif
QUOTE
GOG Updates Privacy Policy, Will No Longer Use Geo-IP to Determine Your Region

We’ve come to the conclusion that there are a number of issues with using a customer’s IP address to determine what offer they are being presented with from GOG.com. A good number of users can find themselves negatively impacted by a policy of using geo IP to set their region.

For example, customers may be travelling when they want to purchase or download a game from GOG.com. In this case, automatic IP address capture might change the price or the content of the game they’re ordering (such as the default language of the installer). Further, geo IP data collection is not always right. IP addresses are not a perfect or unique identifier of location, and can report the incorrect region of users, particularly ones who are not using standard Internet connections. Finally, we’re always very sensitive of our users’ privacy. Effective privacy protections for our users means that any data that we don’t need to collect, we shouldn’t. We only need to know the country that you’re making this purchase from, so although we originally planned to use geo-IP to determine user’s location, we’ve decided to trust our users and let them inform us as to the correct region for their purchase.

Any of you who are having problems with your country’s location (and the offer you're presented with) can update this by going to ”My Account” and clicking on “Account & Settings."

The change is now live on GOG.com and will effect all current purchases and preorders.

EDIT: We'll update the privacy policy on our website to reflect this tomorrow, because we're having caching problems with it today. rest assured, the new changes are in effect even if the page doesn't show it.
