Bombed: SEGA On Streets Of Rage Shutdown
![]() QUOTE Last week SEGA ordered that the Streets Of Rage remake – a faithful fan (reportedly eight years in development) recreation by Bomber Gamers that we previously reported on – be taken down by its creators. Subsequently, SEGA issued this statement: “SEGA is committed to supporting any fans that take an interest in our games, and where possible we do so by involving them in Beta tests and other development, marketing or research opportunities. However we need to protect our intellectual property rights and this may result in us requesting that our fans remove online imagery, videos or games in some instances.” Fairly tragic, I think. Is there any good news today? Source: Rock, paper, shotgun |

GOG.com hints at deals with major publishers
QUOTE At the end of the CDP Days 2011 Spring Conference (which was streamed live online and is available to replay here), CD Projekt teased the audience with logos from five major game publishers: Microsoft, Electronic Arts, LucasArts, Take-Two, and Square-Enix. Apparently, one of those five has already signed on to bring more than 25 titles to the service this summer, and two others are likely to come on board later this year. Additionally, CDP announced an update to their GOG downloader client that is coming soon, featuring multi-threaded downloads and automatic error checking. The former will let you to download larger games as quickly as your connection will allow, and the latter will check for corruption every 10MB and re-download individual chunks if necessary. Spotted on Big Download. Source: Firingsquad |

Bought Alone in the Dark 1.
Didn't know there was Alone in The Dark: New Nightmare (in 2001). The new one was a total flop. |

You can pre order from GoG right now and you'll straight away get the bonus content right now but nothing too special; a few artworks, wallpapers and avatars but when the game is released they will give you more exclusive content if you decide to buy from them. What i understand, they will not charge you anything yet, and you can decide whether to buy or not later. And i read if you buy from them you will support their sister company CD Projekt RED by preordering through GOG.com. That is the sentimental value, but i doubt most people will care about that. For me i think GoG deal is better than Steam because they have no DRM. |
