Bro,

Everyone have their own preference and usage. It doesn't matter how often I watch or listen. It's same theory with PC, why do we need bigger and more storage? How often do we use those things we put in? It doesn't matter. Maybe to you, it's not needed, but doesn't mean others must follow right?
You can also say, why buy such powerful phone when I don't utilize it, right? What I need, probably can be achieve by many other phones as well. It's personal preferences and what one wants to do with it. And it's no doubt storage space is an issue for many, but not everyone.

It  doesn't matter if it's N900 or other phones. I have my N81 with micro SD loaded full of files, it doesn't makes the phone laggy; It's laggy when I install apps which uses the internal memory/ram and leaving very little. My N81 is not the one with 8GB. The internal free memory is only around 25MB, when I install NGage Arena and Nokia Maps 2.0 and Garmin, it left me around 5MB, which makes the phone laggy. It makes no noticeable difference whether I fully utlilize the micro SD space or not; Only when I access the file manager, or scan the file, it's slower, but that's the problem one have to accept, it's not a problem for me; It's when those people who doesn't understand and complain that's the real problem.

Anyway, I'm not sure where are you going and what's your purpose. But, we're only sharing information and as long as the person is happy and like with the phone, it doesn't matter if it's a useless phone or a good phone to another person.
If you've been following this thread, I've been saying it many times, the best phone for Person A may not be the best phone for Person B. Everyone have their own preferences and how they value each thing/part.

Above is just my personal opinion.

P/S: I don't know how we come to this stage, but previously I was just explaining to aruja_69 that it's not just Nokia doing this 300 units which he find surprising like he's never seen this kind of thing before, and I simply take the Milestone as a comparison which also happen to have similar pre-Order of 300 units and at almost the same timing.

Chill mate. The logic is very simple just eject the memory card u will notice the boost of speed for your N81

Hehe important u happy mate. What you say is always right. I also not sure where u are going to but i am just sharing what i know regarding memory storage as an additional perspective for others. About comparison then do an overall comparison including its pros and cons to compare. Because the more stuff you store the longer it takes to load everything using its memory.

Like i said dont get offensive but this its just my personal perspective in things. Lastly like i said important you are happy.

Sorry to hear about that. 2 of my friends that pre-ordered a few days before me had the same story.

Even in my case, Nokia only send the confirmation email on Friday noon. Neither of my friends received the confirmation email.

Games? Not as many as iPhone I guess.

Productivity applications? Plenty enough smile.gif

My opinion its unfair to compare Maemo 5 to Iphone OS. First iphone been around since Iphone 2G 8GB thats like 3 to 4 years ago . Maemo 5 its like only few months old to US n European market and Malaysia its only 2days old. When Nokia S60 5th Edition on Symbian OS 9. was first launch it took few months for application and games to come out and look at it now so many choices and option.

Furthermore N900 are equipped with ARM Cortex-A8, up to 1GB of application memory, and OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics acceleration so this phone can really go beyond your imagination sure give it some time.

I have created a dedicate page for Nokia N900 users at the link below

i beg to differ. maemo OS has been in the market for quite somewhile (say 4 years?), I used to own the nokia N800 internet tablet in year 2007 (tat was after 1 year+ launched in US in year 2006), and Nokia made a big improvement on Maemo OS 2008 during that time. I was really really impressed with the overall performance of my N800 that time, multi task and hey.. it's a linux in the box. just add repository from the community site, you will be able to download tonnes of application for the Maemo.

i'm the early participant in this N900 pre-order, and to be honest... i'm very excited about it. but impression changed after i played with it in pavilion yesterday evening. the OS is still unstable, missing icons in the camera apps itself, intermittently hanging issues. To the unbearable extent, i got to launch the terminal to kill the camera app. to force it to close.I would expect a stable OS before Nokia put it on the shelf, the price is not few hundreds, we are talking about RM2.3k here. no doubt it's a mini computer with phone feature, but atleast Nokia should solve the in-built applications before they launched or sell it to the consumer. N900 is not ordinary smartphone like symbian or iphone, it's a device for tech savvy consumers.

after played with it around 20 minutes (mind you, the device i played with was hooked on a big LCD tv, those looking at the screen would know what is happening to its OS), I decided not to get it until it is stabilized.

just my 2 cents, no offence ok. hey.. i'm one of the maemo fans too! and I knew nokia will sorted this out soon. looking forward on that.

Maemo OS is been around quite sometime from the Nokia tablet N800 i agree but its like windows From XP to Vista there was alot of bugs and problem even now in windows 7 there are still bugs. Last time Nokia N800 its just a tablet no phone functions but N900 combines tablet with phone so its not as easy as paste the code inside and WALLA TABLET + PHONE = MAEMO 5. There are alot of work have to be done even when PDA are going into smartphone last time everyone have so much problems. I still remember those time the phone keep hanging non stop then when battery exhausted so does your data go missing.

No worries sharing is caring
I am using one now i dont face any hang issue. Nothing is perfect in this world tongue.gif
What you say is true about solving bugs and in built application before launch.

Its just depends on what prespective you look at it. Can you name me a phone in the market that is perfect or even bugless even iphone is not perfect.

No offense ya just sharing biggrin.gif

Multitouch allows improve interaction like iphone 2 fingers drag out ZOOM IN 2 fingers drag out ZOOM OUT. N900 to zoom in 1 finger spiral motion to zoom in or out.

Certain games allow multiplayer on 1 phone to play. If non multi tiuch after the first person press den only second person can press if together press at the same time it will mess all up.

Alot other functions

Thats why i asked there is a possibility that card is special edition or include certain additional features to make it cost so much compare to normal ones.

If you really need a powerful browser, N900 is the one...but if you prefer more apps to play with, then Milestone.

For me I will choose N900 cause I need a full functioning desktop like browser.

AP SET AND WARRANTY BY WHOM?
*
I highly recommend you to purchase original set when its out.
Firstly you must first understand where AP phones are from?

Original sets are backup by team of experts and they have spare parts to immediate attend to your problem. Nokia Centre in Sunway Pyramid they usually resolve problem within hours except if that particular parts are out of stock.

AP phones = They give u 18 months warranty or 24 months warranty
Have you wonder AP phones who supply the spare parts to them? To them every parts for them to repair cost money. AP company are usually small to medium company so imagine how many units they need to sell to cover their cost? If the problem is big they usually tell u no spare part and let you wait few months.

Original phones are back by Nokia directly.

I'm starting to feel there's something wrong with my phone when I get 4 hours of web browsing in a full charge. So it's normal then sweat.gif pheww! Maybe I'm expecting too much since I previously use 5800. So syok browsing, didn't feel 4 hours already gone.

First you must understand Nokia 5800XM and N900 shares the same battery 1320mah so usually it can last about 4 hrs extreme internet.

My n97 can last at least 6hrs because its battery is 1500mah
