Newbie here . Waiting for my first tarantula; Mexican Red-Knee to arrive at my doorstep maybe in wednesday (Im not balik kampung juz becoz waiting for her to arrive )heheh. Below is the housing waiting for her.

Really? Can u suggest the best substrate for my B.smithi? Will change it immediately.

I do some reading in the internet and yes, the suitable humidity is around 75-80%. At the time i took the photo, my hygrometer showing 70% of humidity..maybe my hygrometer rosak edi.. . Bout the plant, i buy it at sg buloh nursery. Btw, thank u very much for the warm welcome

For the substrade, i use potting soil and forest bark its 80% of potting soil and 20% of forest bark. When i look closely, i can see a very tiny thing crawling at the soil. Is it pesticide?? Btw, thanks for ur advice and useful tips

Ok ok hahaha found the answer already . So, my B.Smithi is a new world spider coz it using urticating hairs as a primary defence ..correct me if im wrong.

Hi guys. One question, is b.smithi like to dig? My b.smithi really like to dig coz almost everyday after i came back frm work, i can see a pile of soil in front of her cave opening. Sometimes shes like a tractor, go inside her cave, bring some soil and put it outside and shes keep doing that continuously in about half an hour. I tot b.smithi is not a digin type... . But its really fun thing to watch .

Nice molt picture . I never experience it yet still new in T world. Just got my 2nd T yesterday



I think the cricket is too big for it..

Thanks bro . Really love this hobby now. Those days i misunderstood about tarantula venom n i tot its fatal to human. But after i watch discovery channel, i now know its rarely fatal to human (maybe not fatal at all) so i decide to buy b.smithi as my first tarantula from leetplayer (recommended seller ). Sigh...i should start this hobby long time ago..
