depend on T keeper,
you can even feed them everyday if you want to / if it eats

Do notice if the abdomen too fat, chance of it injured from fall are way higher

I wonder who said that feeding everyday is okay. This is cruel towards the tarantula. Just imagine you eat a meal every one hour (tarantulas have slower metabolism than us, hence feeding them everyday is like feeding a human being every 1 hour, *just for example). They will eat because the prey keep on appear in front of them (small container), and they feel stress, doesnt mean that they are hungry.

and yes, you might killed it if you powerfeed them. There are lots of example that tarantula died because of powerfeed, not directly. For example, stuck during molting, fall and hurt the abdomen, internal "bleeding" and so much more.

I never powerfeed my tarantulas. I feed them around 2-3 weeks once depends on their abdomen size. I couldnt give any solid example about cons of powerfeed, maybe somebody share their "experience" to warn the rest?

erm,
I din say is ok,
what i mean is just that you can.
Depends on T keeper = how much he feed you also dunno
if he knews powerfeed will "pump" their growth rate rclxub.gif

yltanisaac: Not a good idea to have large loose stones in an enclosure with a small base- if by accident someone knocks the enclosure on its side and it rolls, the stones might crush your slings.

naruto_kun: Feeding your T every 2 days won't kill it. But when the abdomen gets to a certain size you don't want to continue feeding it (even if it will still eat). Abdomens that are too big are not good for the T- a couple of the reasons have been mentioned already. I stop feeding my T's when I think they are fat enough.

Hey guys, would like to ask.. if there's a T's died in your enclosure, afterthat do you re-use the substrate inside, or you will straight away throw it ?

reuse if the T died not because of mites / no mites around,
straight away throw the substrate if there are mites around even the T is still alive.

If there was a NW T in the enclosure before, or if there's a lot of old webbing present then I would toss the old substrate out and wash the enclosure completely. NW T's sometimes will lay down a carpet of U-hairs before molting. Anything such as old U-hairs and old webbing may signal to the new T that there is another T nearby and prolong the time it takes for the new T to settle down. Since substrate is not too expensive, I usually toss the old one out and use new substrate.

I didn't know that before that NW T will leave some of its U hair when molt. Thanks for the information
