can place diff species of t in the same tank??
It's not even recommended to put more than 1 T in a same tank (for non-communal of course; Not all communal Ts get along too, but that's another topic)
Let alone putting different species together. While I heard some people tried putting several Ts of the same genus (Avicularia sp. as an example) there is always a few things that prevent most of us from doing the same
1. Cannibalism - Waste a good T, Waste your parents/your hard-earned money. But yet if the species are truly communal then, the solution is to give ample food supply. If not you will be getting from 10 Ts to 2 really FAT Ts.
2. Cross-breeding - Mixing different species together will generally encourage cross-breeding in future, however it is unlikely do occur often as there are certain intrinsic and extrinsic biological factors that prevents cross-breeding such as offspring inviability, incompatible pheromones, drumming styles, colours etc. T keepers in general don't like having the pure breeds mixing around. The Avicularia sp is already mixed up as it is.
3. Maintenance - Generally, the Ts that most will consider as communal or cohabitable are aggressive Ts such as pokies and OBTS. Boy, they are FAST and MEAN. Maintaining the tank and rehousing them in future will be a PITA even for an experience T keeper. (believe me, I know. Im a noob too but I have a OBT communal)
So hence
YES, you can put more than 1 T in the same tank if they are communal and of the same species and better yet from the same egg sack
NO, you can't mix Avicularia + POkies + P murinus and what have you in the same tank, you will just see a show down of which will be the final fattest T.
and~~ NO, if you are not that committed to keeping them communally and are just doing for the fun of it.
Cheers mate
