My first one couldn't even last me for 3 months then it 3rod, fixed by x-clamp method (from bro Virgil). It lasted for another six months then it 3rod again, but this time I fixed it myself. Sold it to a friend and it is still working now (about 3 months already). I got myself a new Falcon set, if it is ever get 3rod again, bye bye microsoft. Enough is enough...

well not necessary is the confirmation about the thermal paste issue.. it could be the motherboard flexing to the max already which is hardly can even be fix.

towel trick ah? can work.. but it will eventually make the motherboard flex to the max.. after that I guess no matter how many towel you put still will be 3 ROD already.

Dont! Never use the towel trick.
Just imagine it like this.
You would wanna heat up the GPU/CPU chip ONLY. And with the towel trick you are actually pushing every chips inside the console to the maximum heat. So it might be too late to fix it via x-clamp replacement if you have used the towel trick for just a temporary fix.

According to reports from the net (including some from here), the towel trick is only a temporary solution, worst than xclamp.

I am in full agreement with you bro.
Towel trick. Yes it works but than it wont last you more than a week.
Continue playing like what bro cannavaro had said and you will know the effect.
You can continue the towel trick but i can give you personal guarantee that your xbox is going to be totally dead before you know it.
Harsh but it is true sweat.gif

My shop fella help me put extra thermal paste on the GPU heatsink to tahan the paste melting..Works fine again..

Then today ..the display turns greenish again.. shakehead.gif

Oh man !! mus put paste everytime like tat meh....

Its like brushing ur teeth everynite with toothpaste.. doh.gif

Let me know the status...as I will make a last attempt to fix my dying x360 with other fixers.....such as tot and rezalid....never say die..but I will still believe that the best solution for 3rod x360 is to send it to spore.....for warranty claims....
