Dude, iPhone speaker at the bottom part is NOT a stereo speaker as you may think of.
Please head to http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html to see it clearly. Left side is Speaker while right side is Mic.

Could it be the Apps you have is not fully compatible to your OS 3.0 (if you are on 3.0).
Otherwise, try to remove it and re-download.

Have you set the APN for DiGi in order to make use of EDGE/GRPS ?
DiGi APN settings are as below (correct if I'm wrong)
APN : diginet
Username : digi
Password : digi

Here's your answer :
1) It depends... but the 'hang' issue not like others (eg. Nokia)
To me, it is very stable though
2) Yes, you can use other SIM Card as it is a UNLOCKED set. WiFi no charge, but not if you are on Telco's 3G/EDGE.

You can't do much about those 7 SMS being sent as MMS instead.
However, I found out that after you have inserted recipients and you modify it again (add or delete), after that it will automatically converted to "Group MMS".

Tip : Turn OFF "MMS" before you compose and send any multiple recipients message (Yes, it's tedious)

Just to add-on... iBlacklist (Cydia) too, it's a trial version which enables you to add only 2 numbers. Pretty handy.

I believe that is because of the Telco coverage issue on your area. I did come across this kind of problem sometimes.
