i have one question here. hope someone can answer this.
we can see the iphone displayed for ppl to test at the maxis centres and some exhibition like the maxis/mac exhibition in mid valley. my question is, are they going to sell the phones after the exhibition/display for a cheaper price to anyone? if someone does that, please tell me all off the infos. tq |

iPhone Generation : 3G
Unlocked? (or Part Number): unlocked Current Firmware : 3.0 iTunes Version : 8.2 PC/MAC : pc Jailbreaking software : not sure Problem Encountered : a bit laggy and it says no sim card inserted eventho i've put in the sim. Steps Taken So Far : none Screenshot of Problem(if applicable) : none Other Information/Remarks : none i just bought this through someone from the forum. this is a maxis unlocked set iphone. she said it is already jailbroken. since this is my 1st time using it, obviously im not used to it yet. and so, im kinda afraid to do things by myself and i think i should ask for consults from any of you guys in here. i don't like the theme and what ever in this phone. the contacts, apps and so much more. i wanna get rid of it. tried to do the restore from itunes. but it says i need to dld n install the 3.0.1 which as far as im concerned got no jailbreak yet (correct me if im wrong). so, how do i reset everything to basic/factory setting without needing to download n install that 3.0.1? and it says no simcard inserted eventho i've put in the sim. how? help! iPhone Generation : 3G
Unlocked? (or Part Number): yes, unlocked Current Firmware : 3.0 iTunes Version : 8.2.1 PC/MAC : PC Jailbreaking software : redsnow Problem Encountered : cannot send MMS Steps Taken So Far : followed all of the guides. already enabled the celular data network and 3G in the iPhone setting. still cannot send MMS Screenshot of Problem(if applicable) : - Other Information/Remarks : I called the customer service and the operator told me to go to the maxis centre so I went there. The guy in maxis centre told me maybe its because I've jailbroken my iphone or maybe because I didn't activate the 3G by dialing *136# yet. and so I do as he said, dialed *136# and now im waiting for it to reply me the confirmation for the 3G blah3. let say IF the 3G activation has done, and I still can't send MMS, what to do? HELP. I repeat, I've already followed all of the guides I can found in LYN Forum. |

QUOTE(nokia2003 @ Aug 8 2009, 08:18 PM) it is all about ceteris paribus correction. I used nokia 7610 b4 and i can send n receive MMS. then I changed to my super-OLD alcatel because my 7610 rosak already. but the alcatel does't support MMS. so I haven't use MMS for quite sometime now.try your SIM card another phone first to determine whether is a network related issue or vice versa |

QUOTE(nokia2003 @ Aug 8 2009, 08:23 PM) just try first on another phone. MMS is a commonly available feature on currently existing mobile phones. perhaps you can try asking a few of your peers for help? ok, i will try on other phone 1st.Added on August 8, 2009, 8:42 pm@ nokia2003 I've tried sending MMS using the Nokia 6680 and yes, I've succeeded sending MMS using that phone. what now? QUOTE(nokia2003 @ Aug 8 2009, 08:49 PM) alright great news. yeap im a maxis user, to be exact, a hotlink user. so just restore? means everything will be back to factory setting and i need to jailbreak again right?first of all, are you with maxis? because if you are, things will be relatively easier. when you restore/activate your iPhone via iTunes, it will prompt you to download a carrier patch. download and install that tiny file. once done, check that you have a number configured (Settings -> Phone) and have MMS enabled (Settings - Messages -> MMS Messaging (On)) |

QUOTE(nokia2003 @ Aug 9 2009, 01:50 AM) well, that ends my journey here then. anything more should be directed to the maxis personnel instead if anyone who've ever encountered similar problem like mine (which is unable to send MMS but can receive - done every single tips/guides/troubleshoots discussed in LYN Forum but still cannot), I beg of you please help me. PM me because I will be away back to my college for quite a long time and I won't be able to keep up with this thread. This post has been edited by barteria: Aug 9 2009, 03:03 AM |

QUOTE(PeeEl @ Aug 9 2009, 04:12 PM) You stated that you brought your iPhone in the first time around to Maxis without restoring it back to it original settings after jailbreaking it, right? If you want to send it in for warranty claim, DO NOT FORGET TO RESTORE your phone as jaibreaking it will void the warranty. I think they didn't mark my name down for having my iPhone jailbroken since they didn't ask for my service card nor serial number or purchase evidence etc. I'm assuming I'm saved! You better pray and hope they have not already marked you down as having jailbroken your unit. PM me because I will be away back to my college for quite a long time and I won't be able to keep up with this thread. For those whose having a problem with MMS (cannot/receive send MMS), just go to the cellular data network (you need to install the carrier bundle for your iPhone 1st to access this option), in the APN field for MMS is set as "unet" at default, change it to "net" then reboot your phone, change it back to "unet" and u can send MMS normally without any problem. If you still can't send MMS, just try reboot it again after u change it back to "unet". If still cannot, maybe u disabled the EDGE, try enable it back 1st. If still cannot then I dunno lah. Hope this will help any fella whose having the same problem as I did before! The carrier bundle-bla-bla-bla can be downloaded from here : http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/868281/+10 Cheers!
