commonly referred to as Internazionale and as just Inter in Italy, is an Italian professional football club based in Milan, Lombardy, founded in 1908. Inter are the champions of Italy, having retained their crown on 16 May 2009, their fourth successive title.

The club was founded on 9 March 1908 as Football Club Internazionale Milano, following a "schism" from the Milan Cricket and Football Club (43 members). A group of Italians and Swiss (Giorgio Muggiani, a painter who also designed the club's logo, Bossard, Lana, Bertoloni, De Olma, Enrico Hintermann, Arturo Hintermann, Carlo Hintermann, Pietro Dell'Oro, Hugo and Hans Rietmann, Voelkel, Maner, Wipf, and Carlo Ardussi) were unhappy about the domination of Italians in the AC Milan team, and broke away from them, leading to the creation of Internazionale. From the beginning, the club was open to foreign players and thus lived up to its founding name.

The club won its very first Scudetto (championship) in 1910 and its second in 1920. The captain and coach of the first Scudetto was Virgilio Fossati, who was killed in World War I. In 1922 Inter were in Group B of the Serie A and came in last place after picking up only 11 points in the season. The last place team of each group was to be automatically relegated. The second last place teams were placed in a pre-relegation 'salvation' tournament. Inter and La Gazzetta dello Sport's editor (Colombo) petitioned the FIGC to allow Inter to participate in Serie A the following year as a year in Serie B would have been financially detrimental. The FIGC saved Inter some weeks prior to the season starting by allowing them to remain in Serie A in 1923. Venezia, who had come in 3rd last in Group B ahead of Inter, were relegated in Inter's place. In 1928, during the Fascist era, the club was forced to merge with the Milanese Unione Sportiva and was renamed Ambrosiana SS Milano. They wore white shirts around this time with a red cross emblazoned on it. This shirt design was inspired by the flag and coat of arms of the city of Milan, which in turn is derived from the flag of the patron saint of Milan, St. Ambrose and dates back to the 4th century AD. The new upcoming President Oreste Simonotti decided to change name to A.S. Ambrosiana in 1929. However, supporters continued to call the team "Inter," and in 1931 new president Pozzani caved to shareholder pressure and changed the name to AS Ambrosiania-Inter.

Their first Coppa Italia (Italian Cup) was won in 1938-39, led by the great legend Giuseppe Meazza, after whom the San Siro stadium is officially named, and a fifth league championship followed in 1940, despite an injury to Meazza. After the end of World War II the club re-emerged under a name close to their original one, Internazionale FC Milano, which they have kept ever since.

Actually, he is slowly but surely adapting to the team. Even though he scored(penalty) in the last game against Bari, he missed a number of sitters that should have won the game. I trust though he will be a good signing for inter this season.

exactly, left me in frustrations.
But mourinho did change our formation from 4-4-2 at kick-off, to 4-3-3 during 25 minutes(switched muntari out for Balotelli) and 4-2-4 after half-time. We tried offesively but it was hard to play against teams that park the bus in defence and only tried to counter.
Bari could also have easily won the game.

I didn't watch the match, but I heard it was an exciting match.

Oh ya, so what kind of tie you guys have with Genoa?

I was surprised when I realized Crespo played for them against Roma. Seems like Inter have been trading a lot of players with Genoa. Inter bought Motta and Milito as well.

I am eager to watch how Motta will do for Inter. Who is he suppose to replace?

Yep 3 formations. He sub Muntari for Balotelli in the 25th minute!!!. So we went on from a 4-1-2-1-2 to a 4-3-3.

Yeah we had alot of deals, I think around 5 players with Genoa to get Milito and Motta from them. Seems like it worked out for Genoa winning against Roma .

He's(Motta) now actually fitting in the Left side of midfield in a diamond formation earlier on against Bari. Supposedly to replace Muntari but not so sure now. Mourinho is rotating the team quite a lot now so theres no ideal formation for Inter at present.

Hmmm...Coz I know there are Juventus Fans Club Malaysia (JFCM) and MilanMalaysia, plus JFCM is going to be the 1st official Serie A team fans clubs in Malaysia being recognised by Juventus in Italy. And I never come across an Inter Fans club.

Well i supported inter since i was around 10+. The reason for it was winning eleven
Back then was Ronaldo, then Batistuta later on. Then started to really like them 6 years ago when Adriano was unbeatable in winning eleven .
Javier Zanetti has always been a favourite of mine too ever since i supported them.

Looking at this season, I think we'll have a tougher time around to retain the scudetto but i think its achievable if we have a playmaker. Heres hoping we'll get one by the end of the transfer season.

As the Juventus & Serie A fan..prior to calciopoli.. I think everyone knows that Inter & Juve can never be friends.. But that's all in the
past. Right now im hoping for a competitive & interesting serie a (Inter-Juve-Milan-Roma-Lazio-Genoa, of coz i hope juve won it) challenge
for the serie a throne. And oso for italian teams to do well in european competition. We can see that top italian team strengthen their squad. Milan(Huntelaar-Abate), Juve(Diego-Cannavaro-Caceres-Melo), Inter(Eto'o-Millito-Lucio-Motta-Arnautovic). Its been a while since serie a team
dominating UCL like the las ttime 2002-2003 season

UP SERIE A

Yeah, right now the Serie A isnt as competitive transfer wise from the EPL and Liga. I believe this can change if we do well in the UCL.

Actually quite frankly, im no fan of his. We could have gone defensively in the last game after 1-0 up but we went ultra offensive looking for a second and that cost us the goal.

Yep, he called it the reason he took off Muntari at the 25th minute during the game against Bari.
I see no difference really between his coaching to Mancini's coaching but maybe this season could be different.
I saw inter attacking more than ever from last season and this could be a positive sign for a more attacking football from a defensively solid football as what people usually view Serie A as.

This league was never boring! Only the media tends to say that Italian Football is past it prime and stuff. Hence, other league fans say they are more superior and bla bla. Its a English Media propoganda to promote their league and create negative perception on other leagues. They also say BPL is better than La Liga? I laugh then they say this kinda things.

When players scores freekicks they say its a Ronaldo look a like... WTF? Now C.Ronaldo left see who will they use next. A Lampard / Gerrard look a like?

Btw, I still think I can never be a fren of an Inter Fan. Haha.. We all know the reason!

Well, this sneijder case has gone along for as far as i can remember. Firstly he said he doesnt want to leave, then he's on the way to milan and then he canceled the trip to milan and now some sources from sky sport 24, italian papers, say he has accepted a 4 million euro salary offered by inter and may well be fit to play against Milan. We will never know its official until inter's website says something about it.

He apparently said this too.

our squad looks complete and ready for the league and UCL. Great game by Inter. We proved the doubters wrong about their title credentials.

It was risky to went on with Sneijder given he had a day practice with the team but it paid off well. Superb work by the two former Genoa-n players and Motta to score the first. Brilliant play on the right to set-up Etoo's run through that gave away the penalty. Gattuso and most of the milan players not had the best of days and we capitalize on that. Deki top it all off with a nice scorcher for one of the best derby win for Inter.

exactly, even though we draw with Bari last week, the game against them also showed beautiful passing unlike last season. I think its a good omen letting off Ibrahimovic and getting Milito, Motta, Eto'o, Lucio and now Sneijder. This could be the season i see Il Capitano lifting the UCL perhaps?

Santon took out Ronaldo last season with ease and he's only 19 years old. I believe he has the potential to go further than maxwell even could be one of the best full-back for Italy in the coming years or next world cup after 2010.

been a fan of Inter for about 10+ years now

super result over the weekend...

the team is now more compact and creative compared to last year where most plays will develop into "hit the long ball and hope for ibra to do something with it"...

with ibra's departure and all those delicious new arrivals , mourinho is shaping the team to become something he has envisioned...

the team is playing more one-touch football and all the players are getting involved in play...i believe mourinho is really shaping the team to be more competitive in champions league

in CL previous years, we were too one-dimensional with ibra on the team and english, spanish teams dealt with us pretty comfortably, i believe with the extra dimensions in attack (pace from etoo, sneijder, motta's more productive passes) our plays will be more unpredictable...

A bit of analysis on the new players:

Sneijder

i like his pace and his ability to launch balls quickly...something that we need to cure the lack of pace and movement last year which was shown painfully in our CL exit...he is something like a trequartista but i do appreciate that he can also press opponents

Lucio

i believe he was bought so that we can push our defenders up more instead of sitting too deep at our end...he is very good with the ball on feet, so he will be able to carry balls out more effectively, one thing though, he might be a bit prone to mistakes sometimes.

Etoo

whats not to like about this guy? sure, he misses sitters once in a while but he brings so much more to the team, the runs behind defenders, his pace and power which is something we lack so much last year...i'm predicting much more penalties this year

Milito

he is not dubbed as il principe (the prince) for nothing, he is a very good goal poacher and he's also very good at the assist...but the most important asset of all is his movement on the pitch which is superb....for all of ibra's talents, he was too much of a primadonna and his movement to bring in his teammates was not very good....

Motta

a bit injury prone i think but he is a very good passer of the ball, very confident and a good selection of short and long passes and like sneijder, he has wonderful accuracy...again this will help improve the team's movements and quicken up play...

and of course they still need time to gel...

this result really surprised me. AC Milan must be shell shocked by this lost to Inter. They didnt reinforce their squad compared to Inter, they only few players such as Huntelaar

Still, Inter looks good for the title as well as Juve with Diego on form

still think inter will win serie A by a mile......juve squad still not as big as inter's...while milan is relying on pato to create something....ronaldinho still looks totally off form

Its just 2 games into the season...so fast come to conclusion? Anyway this will be an exciting calcio stagione!

damm..Mourinho..just as good as old time..he bought players for the 1st team and they all contribute..to strengthen the team...

I think all the 5 players he bought will bring glory but i'm not so sure which glory..heheheh

Well there are so many interistas who criticise him for being a top flop. The game against Bari when he played for the last 30 minutes showed that he still needs to get his crosses right. His dribbling is fantastic though sometimes its a bit too much. I prefer Balotelli over him. Expects that he could be loan out or sold by January again if Mourinho doesnt see him fit enough. Still there is still time to redeem himself.

Again keeping my hopes up. Still there is a long way to go even in the Serie A.

funny how mourinho wanted him at chelsea and after that many years he finally got him at inter, now he cant even get a decent 30 min game. had hard time dribbling past players, trivela pass didnt go anywhere...once called as the guy to replace figo...

but i guess mourinho still have faith in him, he just need to get back his confidence, how many years that will take i dont know

great result against milan btw..but they are really2 bad this season, too much relying on ronaldinho..hoping for a good game with barca not putting too much hope, we are still behind their standard, but im optimistic...finger crossed

I think Inter match Barca in all part now..maybe a little bit behind in Midfielder...but after Sneidjer...i dunno for sure..but the match between Inter and Barca will be great...

Barca has alot of pace though. I think handling Ibra will be easy considering we have Lucio, Cordoba, Chivu, Materazzi and Samuel to choose from. But Iniesta, Xavi and Messi will provide the pace and not to sure how we're going to cope with it. Their first game against Sporting Gijon proved that their crossing are formidable considering they scored 3 times with it.

Well fortunately, it was nothing serious. No fractures but maybe just a knock. There was a jap guy running all over him in the match. But i would curse myself if Sneijder dont make it for Barca. Hoping he will score a similar goal to that of Japan
Well there is still no news from Sneijder so it could take from a week or 6 weeks to recuperate but im quite optimistic he will make it for Barca.

Inter vs Lugano
Arnautovic should have scored in the game against Lugano. But overall, great game for our youngsters and inter players who have yet to redeem themself to Mourinho.

Elsewhere,
Eto'o played magnificently too aiding Cameroon to a 2-0 result scoring one goal.
Santon played abit for Italy in the second half. Hope he doesnt get too close with Fabio Can too much.
Chivu too played marvelously for Romania in the 1-1 draw against France.

The Argentina - Brazil game is still on going now. Doesnt look to good for the Argentinians.

Apart from the Sneijder scare, everything else seems to be just alright! Hopefully

Well to be a little negative, they played against Lugano. Well its LUGANO . No disrespect but it is Lugano
Ok ok . At least they scored . Quaresma did the flick beautifully for his goal and Mancini too.

New stadia???

It could be like the Emirates. Around 60K size stadium not as much as the san siro though. After the completion we wont get to see double milan ultras at the san siro anymore for inter home games . On the side note, its great to get of this sharing of stadium with our rivals thing and am hoping to create new histories at the "new" stadium if it is official that they are going to build it.

On other news, Sneijder could be even ready to play for Holland against Scotland. Fortunate enough, his injury isnt as bad as we thought it would be, . I wonder if he didnt play against Barca. Will scare the shitses out of me
