Haha... my guild sucks.....

Ulduar 10 cannot kill Mimiron. Cannot do hard modes.

Ulduar 25 fail on Ignis, and Auriya.
>-<; I need a new guild but there is none on Kalecgos that raids oceanics times. People on my server ask why a good tank such as myself the pug king of Kalecgos join such a crappy guild, i also donno what to say. Just unlucky :{
PS: Naxxramas 25 undying achieve i think needs to be a guild run. Because need to recruit so many, and pugs tends not to be reliable people so yeah .... i probably reached my limit already what i can do as a pugger >-<;

I don't have alts to mine my mats >-<:

i dun have a alt which is a miner as well but buying smart on AH > mining mats since its fast and easy =p

The way I see it, people label others as elitist cos the others are in a level they can only dream of achieving or people who can't come to terms with the simple fact that they are actually terribad

Haha i think so to. I however don't deny being an elitist cauz i like to do things proper and thorough smile.gif Is not a bad thing, (and in fact most successful guilds are eltisits) but it does tend to annoy people who are very casual players haha...

I even get threats ingame if i refuse to bring a very undergeared player or their friend etc etc >:X *shudder
*
u dont just transfer...u check their realm forum then search for suitable guild that in need of ur class. Then u apply for it and transfer if they accept u to their raid rank. PROFIT

I've been trying to apply to other guilds but so far no luck :[

What is worrying when trying to apply to these guilds, they refuse to gurantee you a spot. They always want to trial first before they accept you. Also sometimes it probably not a core raider spot! Also could be their loot rules is not agreeable or there was some problem you found out too late etc etc :[

No hope for me :[

Mind you this was back in Vanilla WoW. Managing a guild with over 200+ toons and 2x 40-man raids is not easy, especially with first time MMORPG players. At one time we were among the biggest guilds on some server tracking websites.

Anyway it's all ancient history.

Fun times.

My guild also has lots of new recruits benched.. but as long as they are available to raid, they are eligible to earn dkp even when not in raid.. They can use the DKP to bid against other ppl on trial if the item is not wanted by any permanent member (this is often the case). Permanent membership is granted after an anonymous vote on member forums, as well as discussion among officers after about 15-20 raids. If needed, the officers may grant an extended trial to give the player a chance to fix whats needed.

seems like a fair loot system, provided the new recruits have slots to raid.

but how does your guild solve the slot issue? hmm.gif

After all the talk about elitist jerking, I don't really want to bust your bubble but in the average gear level and patch balancing (or less politically, nerfing) nowadays 5man achievements aren't all that hard. Neither is Obsidian Sanctum.

Glad to hear you're having fun though! :D

The vast majority of 'top guilds' (Let's say, top 20 worldwide, not top 20 on your server) are primarily meritocracy, so... don't suck?

Two examples OTOH:
Trial warlock does better job than member who was with us through M'uru and Kil'jaeden = bye member. (To be honest, for some reason he started sucking majorly for some bizzare reason, or maybe our microscope just got that much more selective) That trial made officer less than a month after getting in.

Trial feral who's replacing/replaced me (I'm off to Boston, can't fit in Oceanic raid times) is now MTing where applicable and in 90% of raids.

People at this level really raid for keeps, business is business, everyone knows the stakes, etc.

i love the westernised corporate mindset. business is business, nothing personal. if you wanna stay, dont suck, improvise. plain simple.

its just this eastern culture of "relationship"? that tends to be abused to no end that really ticks me off. like how some guy can suck all he like in a guild because he happens to be some close friend of the guild master and co-founder of the guild etc and wont ever get demoted/kicked.

i mean, you can claim how the above is no fun and whats the point of playing if ur not having fun. but really, whos to say being at the peak of the game above everyone else isnt fun? one can claim how he resent being elitist, and how you're supposed to enjoy the game, sure, thats fine. but for the love of god do realize if thats what you choose then dont friggin expect to get cutting edge gear compared to people that really put in the effort and time. (yes, we know how dumbed down wow content is, but the gap of top end raiders and casual players will always exist.)

and whats more amusing? that said bunch of players that never ever realize their damn place still never cease to exist, and of course, amuse me to no end.

I dunno about dumbed down, it's dumbed down for the mid-tier crowd, definitely, but Mimiron pre-nerf was approaching soul-crushingly hard. I'd put it almost at M'uru level. Yogg-Saron with 0 keepers (which Tsunami was on the verge of beating before 3.2, augh, got it 2nd pull after the patch hit, f.u.blizz) was literally head and shoulders above anything else in the game up to that point in terms of the amount of coordination and split-second timing required.

Dumbed down my ass. >:(

My personal observation is, the problem with meritocracys in developing nations is the fact that, most of the time you can't even find competent people to fill spots. Take a workplace for example... How many times have you looked across the partition at the next guy over and wondered to yourself what the flying f* he's doing there earning a salary... yet when it comes down to screening and interviewing a replacement, surprise of all surprises, no one better walks in.

Maybe it's the fact that the average IQ of 'poorer' countries just is lower. Maybe the only real way people move forward in this kind of environment is to band together, following the age-old idiom of the bundle of sticks. (p.s. I'd take a baseball bat over a bundle of sticks any day) Maybe a couple of generations with a non-shit national education system will fix the problem. With the amount of intelligent people leaking out of the country by going overseas to study and staying there after realizing what a shithole this place is, I kinda doubt it, though.

Eh, the first step to fixing a problem is acknowledging it exists.

Well hopefully the people who moved on are upscaled to the upper finance or strategy jobs to compete with the whites, have unmovable niche roles or just plain talented. Anything else is gonna be outsourced back to us developing countries laugh.gif

You go to work or school, come back after a long day and all you want is a smooth night of WoW. Killing bosses, clearing dungeons or doing well in PvP. In all cases, you don't want shitty people ruining your night with their careless and care less attitudes.

from perspective of a yet-to-ding-80 wow player running few pugged TBC instances, i've seen non tank spec warrior refuse to tank when the rest of the group consist fully of off-spec healers, rogues that didn't sap mobs for easier pull, dk that likes yoyo mobs around, shaman that didn't place totems, paladins that waste AoW proc etc, etc... and some of them were in blue gears.

some people might be undergeared, but i believe some amongst them would provide more valuable actions than those who have blue/purple geared all around; you might been crossing few dozens of them who 'just want to focus on certain job' while ignoring wholly what their class are capable of. when comes to some situations like a raid facing wipe, although a green geared paladin/ shaman/ warlock might be less help on healz/ pewpew, but at least they provide certain usefulness comparing to a properly geared warrior rogue that just want their names on top of DPS chart.

and sometimes, luck plays an important part on getting those gears... some people are just on some unfortunate losing streak when comes to rolling cry.gif

The idiots and hand-wavers who listened to Ensidia and didn't bother to even attempt it said it was impossible. People who were working on the fight at the time knew it was very, very possible. Premonition for example were close but backslided on progression due to a couple of rostering factors (Summer vacation, 4th of July, etc)

Quoting Premo, dated 28 June after Exodus's lolsploit kill. (Last sentence is obviously in error, in hindsight, since Exodus -did- evade the Immortals)
QUOTE
IT IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE TO DO. Seriously, stop f***ing saying this. There are multiple, mathematically possible ways to kill the boss. However, they're all very difficult to EXECUTE. The math is f***ing easy, the DPS checks can be met. The hard part is actually everyone playing like a god in regards to positioning/taunting/moving in the small windows of opportunity you have to actually do it. And you have to repeat it many times.

The exploit they're talking about is a typical evading adds exploit, which is pretty unlikely to have been used for the kill.

Quoting Juggernaut, ditto re: Exodus' innocence or lack thereof.
QUOTE
I find it hard to believe that Exodus exploited. From what I understand about the encounter it seems to be possible, although ridiculously hard and luck dependent.

Edit: And to add, from practical experience, emphasized part of that post nails it on the head. The numbers involved were -well- within the realm of possibility, and the deciding factor was split-second execution. We actually wrote custom mods to help achieve this and I don't want to imagine how guilds without access to such resources would even handle the encounter. Point is moot since Blizzard changed/nerfed the fight and made targeted immortals rename.

well, forget the godlike play, fokking was the solution to china. and oh boy the rest of us takes it bad on the next patch note :/

to be fair, rogues replacing SS with FOK in pvp is a little rediculous, however with the early PTR notes showing a huge % drop on FOK changes, this might be a little too much lol

when u have rogues doing 8k dps on trash based bosses (freya etc) which is higher than the other AoE class like SP and locks, FoK is too OP (damage wise) when rogues have superior single target DPS...
its the same when hunters was nerfed when they out AoE these AoE classes...

to be fair, lock was nerfed 5% as well...

Nothing special, 50 attempts a week is annoying in the sense that oceanic raiding is far more sensitive to limited time/attempts a week.

Of course, I can't really complain considering how Mal'Ganis and a lot of other populated US realms aren't faring that much better in the reliability department.

We're just sitting back and laughing at another guild who intends to mass-transfer on Thursday to another server and back on Sunday just to get more attempts and claim Oceanic firsts. But you didn't hear me say that, nor does this post exist.

new VoA bosses is pretty easy as long as u dun get unlucky towards the end with the firepool+aoe combo which 1 shot most ppl

Cleared 10-man ToC normal and one-shot everything. Went into Anub with no idea what to expect and me raiding on my ele Shaman again after being told 3 hunters in a 10-man is too much.

Oh we downed OS3 drake AGAIN! for the third time. Still no drake for me sigh :[

I did get a fancy new achievement called before the volcano blows smile.gif
Later we went to voa to try it out. That new fire boss, whats up with him? I kite him out of fire but people still kept on dying. We have 7 healers no less.
*
lol its not the healers or dpser not moving out...

if u know the fight well enough, u would know that there is a soft enrage timer for the boss...
as the fight goes longer, the debuff increases and around 2-3 minutes into the fight things starts getting really ugly...
as i've said, a timely firepool together with the AoE will 1 shot any dpser...

thus it is a pretty big dps race which for pugs would be a problem...
get him down around 3 minutes would be ideal...
another thing would be not tanking the boss at the middle of the room or anywhere the dpser would be standing to the yellow glass that make it hard to spot the fire...

@ ray
sigh the floor respawn and my guild cant get to anub $*%!%17^!

No offense taken smile.gif

I do agree. However i have my own philosophy that only people that got enchanted/gemmed/and some decent gear for raid should come. So why should a better geared person roll against someone less hard working at getting gear? And i am not talking about awesome gear, i mean people who don't bother enchanting/gemming, or their wearing a different spec gear, or their wearing some nasty gear like greens and blues or pvp gear.

If it was in my guild raid i would keep quiet unless it was another tank in shitty gear. Why do i need to roll off against a shitty geared tank?

So to me, it's not only who is geared for it, also geared to make the encounter easier, but whether they deserve to roll for loot against others also matters to me doh.gif

Of course now and then when doing a 5man heroic, i won't be this strict, as long as their not greens is fine.
I have even booted some very geared players from raid for OS3 because on dps meter they sucked or they keep dying to firewalls and voids. I tend to favour melee dps for OS3 drakes. So far i have managed to kill OS3 drakes 2 times so far this way doh.gif It's nothing personal but the majority just want to down the boss, so the weakest link needs to be replaced.
You have hit this dead on the mark. Many people have said as you mentioned. Why am i being such an elitist, and whats the point when you should just play with friends to have fun together?

I am not against that, however for progression, i even keep my friends out of my raids unless their geared for it. Most of them understand it is not personal, but that they just aren't ready yet. Of course sometimes they will ask me to make an exception and i will deny them tongue.gif

I left one guild because i didn't agree with their philosophy. To them it didn't matter whether the person is geared enough for content or not, as long as their a guildy they all get to go regardless of whether their ready or not.

To me, that just tells me they don't care about progression, they just hope for the best with unrealistic goals that amuses me to no end as well.

Casual playing isn't wrong, but they shouldn't be holding players like myself back or being egoist telling me and other elitists why we don't accomodate for them. If they want to go raid somewhere fine, but leave me out of it tongue.gif don't be cussing me on whisper because i refuse to join your group.

This is why i left an old guild to find similar minded people that want to work their asses of for progression doh.gif
*
Even i quit WOW 2 years ago, i don't find anything wrong with your philosophy, we play this game on our own, we should do the thing we think we can enjoy it, what the hell you paying the game for if you don't play it your own way?

From what i see, you should find a group of person who have the same mindset like you and form a new guild, make it small like 25-30 person, enough to do a raid everyday so that you won't miss all the action you like. My experience, the larger the guild, the more drama will occur and eventually the guild will die off.

I surely miss the old days when i enjoy playing Wow, however, it is the history, i can't afford to lose more time on this. Lol!

The friends in my area like to live life a certain way. They play futsal regularly, hang out at mamak teh ais until 12am, and enjoy watching EPL on weekends. Sometimes they go on trips to Kinabalu or even Tibet.

I don't like any of those, so I don't join them. Who cares if I'm miserably alone because I don't have anyone who fit my lifestyle, this is my life and I choose to do it this way. It's the way I roll baby.

I'd rather transfer to Australia to (hopefully) find people similar to me rather than adjust my attitude to accomodate the people here.

ausfailia sucks. take this from the person whos
- been there (2008)
- have relatives migrated there
- have a lot of ex-guildies/guildies/friends etc living there

of course, ive only been to west aus, i heard east aus is very similiar to lifestyle in KL, but then again, with their ISP being comparably shit like us (more towards the pricing, and bandwidth limitation) and the whole anti-loli laws, f*** it.

it was a bug sleep.gif"
it was not working as intended on the first nite where we reached anub...
the floor respawned but the npc did not...
hotfixes were given out once blizzard were aware of the issue but those for those affected it was too late...
all we could do is ticket the gm with the raid ID but it wasted 1 day of raid (thrusday nite)...
npc was up on the 5th nite and we downed it...

it is the same bug where all top guilds including ensidia is 4/5 got totc/togc...
was surprised u were not aware on the whole issue cause it was a big news on mmochamp and wow forums...

Ah my bad then, didnt do TOC straight away on when Anubarak was released during that day due to "extended maintainence" crap. Entire Ruin battlegroup (a few other BG gp too) was pratically down for 1 day.
Must be other servers got to it 1st and discovered the bug.

ausfailia sucks. take this from the person whos

*
the bandwidth is sucks. i regularly get unplayable latency of 500+ ms. it's damn horrible. I had to resort to capping my fps at 25 to play at max settings.

With my time schedule? No hope.
Well so far this is my guild progress.
TOC 10 = we killed 4 of the bosses. We killed the twin angels doh.gif

Ulduar 10 = we can kill everything normal mode except mimiron, general and yogg.

OS 3 drakes = We can kill sartharion for this achievement after a few tries. actually this is a pug i make, but some of the people is my guildys. Hoping to keep it internal in the future doh.gif

Ulduar 25 = we killed everything except mimirong, general and yogg. Some weeks we don't even manage to kill Ignis >-<;
I have been helping get new members especially priests, and some good dps. Also we have been gearing members. So gearwise we are ready, just that we need people to be more consistent by showing up on time, and our GM needs to set specific raid times.

Speaking about latency, do any of you have problems with disconnections?

Whenever i try to tank toc 25 at the first beast boss, i keep getting disconnected.

the first boss phase 1 for totc is pretty buggy...
half of the raid usually dc there and after p1, its smooth throughout the entire totc...
i notice the dc is during engage/ first firepool...
we are not the only one as u can read from the wow forum (official) that lots of ppl from various part of the world are having the same problem...

connection wise i'm at 200-400ms...
and i still dc there at times (though getting really rare now)

aren't moogle suppose to be short, fluffy and likes to dance around edgar, sabin, ...

ok, wrong moogle...

i'd had few hiccups running few bg's earlier yesterday with ample of dc (especially AV), yet it returns to normal being kill session 30 minutes later... which kinda sux becoz certain point i've been asked for UK and the latency/ dc issue just stop me from getting into the raid

I'm still not raiding. into the 3rd week of no raiding. The DCs are annoying for me and the IPs I'm getting are just bizarre.

Waiting to see what happens after the APCN cable is fixed.

Then again, I"m also killing time resting my bad back. So have been playing the AH to get some gold and helping out as a mod at Gamepath Forums.
