this is a  known issue when using mass storage mode. Please disconnect properly or you will have malfunction homescreen.
FOTA is firmware over the air = upgrading the phone directly using internet (3g/wifi)

with v30 the problem seem to been solve or has been minimize

After testin the garmin 5.00.60 here is what changes i notice :

New:

= New font. Not as nice as the one before.
= Options for pictures. No idea what this is for yet
= 2 new routing options. No idea what this do.
= Doesnt crash anymore when browsing map
= I feel its much faster than before. Just psychological effect maybe....
= Maybe i just nvr realize it but i now hav the map of the entire world

Disappointed at:

= The cursor still runs everywhere. Even when stationary it when stupid up n down.
= Related to stupid cursor problem which cause it to think i'm on the wrong road and it began recalculating my route.
= Still no general search.
= Still no more advance avoidance options
= Still no junction view

Overall.. not bad la.. coz the more important issue they have resolve which is crashing when browsing map. This is enough to make me happy

To sign u need to put unsigned file in same folder or subfolder of signsis.exe program. Then the signed one will be in the same folder in sigsis.exe

It depends where or what type of file u download... if you download file something "GarminMobileXT_5_00_60_S60_TW.exe", you can run .exe and follow the instruction whitin. or u can openit with winzip/winrar/7zip and extrac to your sd forlder (i always used this method). Then locate in SD/Garmin file garminmobilext.sis, then run (use explorer to do this).

If you downloaded is in zip/rar, probably it has been customized. Do the same thing, extract to SD card folder. put in folder SD/Garmin. Then locate the .sis file and run.

Done.

Place all your map in folder SD/garmin.  For info, GMXT only support map with the following gmapsupp.img and gmasup1.img, gmapbmp.img (basemap). I suggested use only 1 file malfreemap or malsingmap. Dont use both if u dont know how to modify mapid.

memory card problem.. take out ur memory card, do a scan disk via ur pc.. and if possible, backup and format.

hey how come i see my other set of 5800.. say when u press the menu button from the main screen... when it changes screen .. it transition like a zoom out screen and then sometimes it slide left .. like in powerpoint slideshow...

but my other 5800 it just appears ... i try to find the function to get the same way like the other 5800 but can't...

u guys know where to find it ? basically both 5800 are the same (default) programs

Already mentioned countless time, no warez talk in here... Both Garmin GMXT and Garmin/malsingmap isnt free for use. Read the first page.

I agree, tried changing the font folder with the font folder of 5.00.50, but that did not work.  The font is still the new font which is really bad.  Anyone know how to change the font?

Ok guys, for those of who have not updated to Garmin 5.00.60.  Well I guess you are waiting cause of the font.  However there is one really cool new feature for 5.00.60.  Say you take a picture using the camera and enable:

option -> settings -> show gps info -> ON

this will geotag the picture that you are taking
Then you go into garmin 5.00.60 and then go to

settings - > my photos -> select the photo that you just took -> GO

So if you have already geotagged the pic, you just click go to that pic.  This is a really cool new feature.

edit: if this feature was already there in 5.00.50 then oops, seems new to me.

go to settings>personal>home screen>home screen themes>select shortcuts bar
then u should see the 4 shortcuts
play around and explore ur phone

yup. reset is the only way.
is under camera setting. not within garmin.
CAMERA > OPTIONS > SETTINGS > SHOW GPS INFO > ON
