After two hours deciding on these three same model. I finally end up choosing samsung. I wanted to take the pana 42 inch plasma originally, but the salesperson in SenQ say he will be selling the display set since he claim its too hard to find the stock. I didn't bought his excuse, so I just pass off the offer and decided to choose Samsung over sony. The sony model was good and decent, and for that price....its very cheap compared to the other sony models, but I realised that samsung is the real player in the lcd market as they make their own lcd panel. I even heard that sony bought samsung panel but make its own body then pass the model as its own.

My personal opinion, looking at samsung leading the race in lcd tv (whats more with its new led tv), I know I made the better choice. Nonetheless, I do agree that panasonic has the better range of full hd plasma tvs with very appealing prices included. Its only the design that is a turn off.

Regarding the general difference between plasma and lcd, here is some point I learn:

1) astro sux on both. CRT tv pwns both model.
2) lcd reflect less and has a wider viewing angle than plasma.
3) movies looks better and natural on plasma. (by significant difference)
4) 3d movies and games looks better on lcd. (by slight difference)
5) plasma heats up slightly more than lcd.
6) plasma takes up more electricity than lcd.

I know the advantages seem to incline towards lcd, but when you compare plasma and lcd side by side, you know that the quality of pictures made a lot of difference. That is why I say plasma looks more natural and softer compared to lcd. But of course for movies that shows alot of 3d and games with bright colours, lcd wins hands down.

Very true. Funny thing is, plasma owners will definitely list out the pros in plasma while lcd owners will list out the good side of lcds.

Before I purchased my samsung lcd, I'm the over-the-fence spectator. Now that I've chosen a side, I guess my opinion is just as biased as the guy above me. tongue.gif

Its best to decide on your own....the rest of us are just sharing our 2 cent opinion on the matter.

Yes, I realise anfield has a valid reputation as mr. expert in this field. I'll just assume everyone else has taken sides except him. Although I'm sure everyone would wish the lcd/plasma market players (sony, samsung, sharp, etc) would eventually make up a product that has the best of both world. I'm expecting oled technology to step up to the challenge, albeit a few years in the future.

For the moment, most of us are grateful that we can enjoy our tv screen with better luxury...one that we're previously exclusive for the rich only. Now that I'm a LCD owner, I'm always eyeballing plasma screens with envy. I'm sure it works both ways on the other side.

Why SenQ? 'Cause I'm staying in Tangkak and that's the closest I can have to a decent offer. sad.gif

As I mentioned before, I wanted to purchase that set, but the senQ salesmen was gonna sell me the display unit for the quoted price of $3499. He even had the audicity to tell me that model very, very hard to find in whole MAlaysia.

I'm sure you can't go wrong with this plasma model. I did compare it with the others, and yes....the viewing is very pleasing.
