For a start you should get some idea of what size tv you will need based on seating distance.

QUOTE(DarkNite @ Aug 22 2009, 06:51 PM) Does this applies to all samsung LCD TV? it's all luck bro...but this is happening to me now, those in the US and the UK...so maybe it's just pure luck. if intend to buy, better get extended warranty or something...coz i know now the capacitors they used in the lcds are all not very durable for long term use. my warranty's finished and now facing this problem...not sure what to do now Added on August 22, 2009, 7:00 pmQUOTE(ron4 @ Aug 22 2009, 06:56 PM) Plasma is for veteran dude plasma is for those who dig contrast and depth...i should have gone plasma...oh well... If you want the absolute best, Sony KLV-55X450A or KLV-46X450A Retail price is Rm27k and 18k respectively, but im sure u can find at much lower prices nowadays.
Its rated higher than Samsung's offering

when it comes to buying something, first thing to do is come up with a budget... how much you wanna spend? Is it for the living room or bedroom? How large is the area?
some folks want to match their TVs with their HTS to 'sync' them so they can basically control everything with 1 remote... (Sony has Bravia, Panasonic has Viera, Pioneer has KURO link)...
then you gotta ask yourself... do you need it to be FullHD or would HD Ready settle for the moment?
LCD conserves energy compared to Plasma but Plasma has better color for skin tones.
