PSP2k is by far the best PSP around dood...
better hardware, more internal ram and the ability to display on TV > PSP1k

PSP2K > PSP3k in terms of homebrew as PSP3k is still new in the homebrew scene but maybe one day it will dethrone PSP2k.

I have both PSP1k and PSP2k

You are right, yeap, but is it worth upgrading to a PSP2k from your PSP1k? The answer, if you ask me, is definitely a no. Why? Well, are those "new" features on the PSP2k worthy of an upgrade? No. I for one was expecting much more from the PSP2k. I mean come on, faster UMD loading (Backups load way faster), nonsense TV output thing, faster web browsing (which still is slow)? Worth it? No.

Don't buy lah Sony's original cable, i bought the fake av cable for tv output for Rm25 nia...
It's a real neat thing to do once in a while to play on big screen tv.

a lot of people are forgetting PSP2k is a "slim" version of the PSP, it is supposed to be a downgraded version but yet it packs so much powerful and better hardware.

Is it worth to upgrade from PSP1k? No....
but if you don't have a PSP at the time and if you were given a choice, PSP2k is the obvious and superior choice.

oh, that casing kinda hard to find over here (looking for it too) price most
likely above 100+ (those logicool stuff here r fakes :/
@playboy21 and azamen87, i agree >_>...psp 1k rocks >_>...(meh, my psp 2k housing cracked >_<"..crap...psp1k solid :3 )
@yoonyin, hmm for games both m33 and gen runs fine. the lastest from m33 team would b the 5.00m33-6 (ta-088v2 and below) and 5.50 gen b (gen a is the pre-requisite for gen b :3 ) bout ps1 games, i don't really run much on it so i don't noe it biggrin.gif

I'm a new PSP2k owner. When i was buying my psp back then, the shop owner told me that i can shut down my psp completely. (My firmware is 4.01 M33-2) While another type must always be in standby mode and the battery must not be completely exhausted, or it will brick. So i didn't buy the latter, which is rm200 cheaper. I wanna know what is the difference? Both of them are using CFW, i think.

the first 1 is obviously easier and less hustle when talking about cfw, can be pandorize and recovered from brick. plus u can do lots of stuff as long as u have a pandora and a mms.

the latter 1..limits to lots of thing, since no recovery tools for that psp type mobo is available yet.

I see. So if i want to upgrade my psp, which is the best and latest CFW i should get? i checked out PSP Hacks, but there are just too many versions of cfw. I'm afraid that i might brick my psp if i simply upgrade. i dun wanna let the shop in my area to upgrade either coz they will charge me rm30. And after upgrading, will my previous saved game data be corrupted? Thx..

i think there is no best 1 out there lol...it really depends on the games played and etc smile.gif..upgrade is easy though biggrin.gif..the only issue is downgrade biggrin.gif games saved data? hmm, most psp theses days r shipped with 5.00m33 (local)so don't think there will b an issue since MOST of my games still run :3 (saves file ofcoz)

5.50 gen-a are based from 5.50 ofw, while 5.00m33-6 are based from 5.00 ofw. the devs are also different.
