Bro,
If I may ask, does the smartwatch supports 2G, 3G OR 4g ? Most of the cheap ones don't go over 2G ... the nicer ones does ...
*
Yea . this is a good question .. and mobile@unifi although good option but need 850MHz support.

Looks like Tune Talk change their PPU for voice calls.

Call ON / Off Net is 22 cents/ min. Only Tune Buddies are 9cents / min.

Hello,

This is FYI for those switching over to Tunetalk. My experience...

I ordered my sim via the website on 27 Aug (Fri) 10am. It arrived 1 Sep. I then tried registering on the website under first time login, could not register. I get this error msg... Invalid Email ID. | Subscriber Self Care (60012) Invalid Email ID.

Tried mobile number. Same error.

I contacted their Livechat. This was basically what they told me.

Such a convoluted way to do it. There is also no clear instructions anywhere - not in sim card pack, not on the website.

I'm probably going to burn the RM30 I paid. Tunetalk's onboarding experience is probably the worst of the 4 telcos I have tried.  bangwall.gif

Shouldn't have given more money to Tony  laugh.gif

But honestly, TuneTalk CS is really responsive. I deal with TT thru FB Messenger and they always response quick. This method makes it flexible for users because if there is a SIM problem or I lost a SIM, I can easily buy a new SIM from mynews store for RM2 and request TT to transfer from lost SIM to new SIM. Yes, you will need to activate it first and give some details of the new SIM so they can detect and make adjustments on the network. If you top up RM 30, then chat with the CS as they should be able to help you with it.

I have been with a few telcos and TT CS are super responsive compared to the rest. Only one point, early this year iirc, there was some problem where the CS was super slow to response in FB Messenger. But after that, it is back to normal. Good service.

Anyone can help? I think my eSIM is broken, data keeps turning on and off. Can I transfer eSIM to physical SIM using a blank SIM card? If so, where can i buy a tunetalk blank sim card?

mynews stores sells them for RM2 but better for you to chat with them on their official FB via FB Messenger. It should be possible since you are buying a new SIM.

Looks like that is it for the free daily 1GB. Tomorrow will be the last day and looks like there is no more extension. Good while it lasted biggrin.gif Gonna miss the super fast speed of Tune Talk compared with Unifii and YES 4G.

The downside of activating VoLTE on a phone that does not support it is now I am lock onto Band 1 in my area. It used to be Band 38 or 40 before I requested TT to activate VoLTE. Band 1 can be very bad at my area at times and its lock at 2G and not 4G like the other 2 bands. But isn't Band 1 for Digi ?

I chatted with TuneTalk and they say VoWifi is activated when you active VoLTE. Since I have already requested and got VoLTE, my YES Altitude 4 only shows VoLTE and VoWifi does not appear even thought the Wifi Calling is enable. Anyone experience the same with YES Altitude 4 ?

And what I understand from the chat is VoWifi is an alternative if cell reception is weak but you must have service coverage whether you local or overseas so in Flight Mode, it will not work. Call charges no change as in local will follow local charges and roaming will follow roaming charges.

Is that correct ?

Yea.. Live Chat method is accurate.

45 days Grace Period but instead of 05:30, can still receive TAC for Live Chat until 23:59 on the 45 days. App will still work.

But once it hit the 46th day, app will have error on account. Signal will still be there until about noon where signal gone and app account gets deleted.

Just tested this a few days ago.

Have a few questions about physical sim card vs e-sim. FYI mine is physical sim card which I've never replaced

1. Let's say my phone is stolen or simply lost. Can I report it to Tunetalk & ask them to deactivate that one & issue me a replacement with the same number?

2. Following from #1, will the replacement be a physical sim card or an e-sim? Is there a choice?

3. If my phone is not on the e-sim compatible list, can I still get a replacement physical sim card for the same number? How/where do I do that?

4. When I send my phone for repair,  I will take out my sim card. What can I do if I have e-sim?

TQIA

In the past, I change my TuneTalk SIM by buying a new TuneTalk SIM nearby, then FB chat with TuneTalk on the procedure to change over from old SIM to new SIM .. all via FB Chat. Very simple but not sure if this is still possible. Once I change was due to the RM0.50 credit deduction SMS issue as advised by TuneTalk FB. Chat with them on FB Chat.

Just got this message and quickly proceed with my 365 Validity before they upgrade me.
Sad.. so many years with TuneTalk Buddies. Might need to re-evaluate Telcos next year when validity ends.

It is not cheaper than Buddies plan with RM28 365 Validity with no basic internet. I mainly use for calls and nothing else.

Read some time ago, wasn't Hotlink better than Epik+ ?
I didn't read too much into it so maybe I recalled wrongly.

QUOTE(jsnhoh @ Jul 14 2025, 02:30 PM)
The new Epik plan is cheap and nice, why need to re-evaluate it ?

Yea... with TuneTalk I do a 2x RM15 to get 40 days since RM15 = 20days. Then buy 365 Validity near expiry but got cut short due to this SMS upgrade crap.

TuneTalk needs a minimum RM5 iirc after deducting 365 Validity RM28. Is this the same from Hotlink Pantas ?

Now searching if Epik+ have PPU and the rates or its Plan only.

QUOTE(axxer @ Jul 14 2025, 03:26 PM)
Depends on what you consider better. Hotlink pantas 365 is definitely cheaper than epik 365, rm30 vs rm35. In fact can get 15 months with pantas instead of just 12 months by reloading rm10 x 3 months to get 30 days each reload, then buy 365 with the accumulated rm30 at the end of the 3rd month.

Nice ... very nice. And I guess Hotlink Pantas is like normal prepaid with PPU right ? As far as I know, only mobile@unifi is a plan only line... no PPU / Pay-Per-Use.

Too bad I did my top up with TuneTalk already... if not, I could have jump ship to Hotlink Pantas.

To whom that has received the SMS, has your account been "downgraded" from Buddies to Epik+ ?

QUOTE(axxer @ Jul 14 2025, 08:01 PM)
Nope hotlink doesn't require any balance after subscribe rm30 for 365, can just leave 0 balance.

What nonsense are you spilling out ?

I am on 4G and PPU for TuneTalk. Calls, SMS and even Data is PPU.

PPU = Pay-Per-Use meaning Credit is deducted based on Calls, SMS and Data usage.

Only mobile@unifi is the only "special" telco I know that even if you have credit, you cannot make Call, SMS and use Data. You must subscribe to a plan to make Calls, SMS and use Data.

QUOTE(JLA @ Jul 15 2025, 12:44 PM)
PPU is old 2G 3G postpaid prepaid voice plan before 4G boom
4G 5G plan no more PPU.

When you receive the SMS notification ?

QUOTE(Eugenet @ Jul 15 2025, 08:33 PM)
My Buddies plan changed to Epik yesterday. It really pissed me off how they pretend it was an 'upgrade'. No way I am going to pay Tunetalk RM35 for 365 validity.

I'll be moving to Hotlink prepaid.
