QUOTE(panasonic88 @ Aug 20 2009, 10:31 AM) sealink sailed already... hmm CI up but today's volume is lower compared to previous days.... usually by now should have 250+, now only 174m @jason, yeah both in O&G but they specialize in different aspect. maybe this will affect the prospect.. Alam does underwater services and ship while Dialog on petrochemical tank construction.. there are other factors to consider also like chyaw said per and political link maybe ? |

My observation on gloves:
The recent run up was mainly due to the hyped up on the increase in demand of gloves with the H1N1 outbreak. The price increase of the various glove counters in the last two month ranges from 15% to 100% with the most significant increase seen in Adventa ,Latexx and Supermax. Assessing the current situation objectively, most of the rubber glove counters are already trading at PE of 15 and above.Forward PE varies, but some company's forward PE are expected to reduce gradually, this is due to expected increase earnings as a result of increase demands.Everyone is increasing their production capacities, will this eventually cause oversupply when H1N1 pandemic recedes? The excitement on rubber gloves, just like those theme plays that happen in the past in Bursa, will eventually fade off.and I personally already see the fever subsiding now. I believe that there is not much meat to gain if one were to buy glove counters at the current level, there is actually higher risk of getting stuck at high prices. I hope my observation is wrong and everyone please do not be influenced.Just ignore what I said and continue with what you are doing.I wish you making lots of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ This post has been edited by lklatmy: Aug 20 2009, 11:11 AM |

out of curiousity
i typed & googled "bad month for stock market" this is what i get: OCTOBER! CODE October is not a good month historically for stocks and the stock market. It can be said that the stock market has crashed three times and each of those disasters happened in October make sure you are aware of this, fellow investors. |

QUOTE(zamans98 @ Aug 20 2009, 11:20 AM) I don't understand how a company can IPO at 0.85 and then drop 0.10 in the first day. Does it mean that all those investors who applied and got the shares at 0.85 suddenly decided to throw the stock and lose 10 cents a share the day that trading started? |

QUOTE(David_Brent @ Aug 20 2009, 11:25 AM) I don't understand how a company can IPO at 0.85 and then drop 0.10 in the first day. rumour said the shareholders gets a way much "cheaper cost" than the IPO price. Does it mean that all those investors who applied and got the shares at 0.85 suddenly decided to throw the stock and lose 10 cents a share the day that trading started? So they can afford to dump, and at the same time, they get fat pockets $$$$$$ |
