I'm suggesting for Linux beginner's who has a need for networking work can try Suse 9.x. Its really helpful as it comes with YaST - kindda like Control Panel in Windows. It DOES help me alot in configuring this and that. Furthermore, if you want to install anything(application), YaST will acknowledge what other package(s) you need in order to install the programme. Good Luck.
