i really dunno what was wrong with the old numbering system. maybe not "cool" anymore. at least back then u were fairly certain what u were getting ie a PS 6.1 is definitely lower powered and more flexible than a PS 4.0 for instance. nowadays how would u compare a kobra to a ktour???
*
Not quite sure what you mean, what exactly are you looking for?
The old Pro Staff 6.1 , do you mean classic, the one with black, yellow, and red (see pic)
If stiffness look at the stiffness index.
If you are looking at at Swing Index ie last time some Wilson rackets are 4.0 SI (Swing Index) I would gather now these days you should look at swingweight.

http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageRCWILSON-KOBRAT.html

http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageRCWILSON-KTOURM.html

Using your examples, the stiffness for Kobra Tour is 60 where as for the Ktour the stiffness is 64.

The swingweight for the Kobra Tour is 309 and for the Ktour is 331.

What this means Kobra tour is slightly softer than Ktour and you can achieve a easier swing with the Kobra than Ktour, but solidness ie, mishits the Ktour is slightly more stable.Hope I have helped.

actually you may be right.. what i felt was after the pre-stretching at 55lbs, the string doesn't feel as lively as it was via the normal non-stretching way. Or maybe it's also the sign that actually the playing tension that i prefer is actually lower than 55lbs as the normal un-stretch way probably the tension at 55lbs after a few hits is 52lbs or so. So meaning pre-stretching it... i shud hav set the tension lower .. smile.gif well have to give it another try the next stringing job.

wow din realize you r a musican as well.. multi-talented on string-based equipments ..haha..  one day we gotta jam. ages since i touch the guitar..
*
I would only consider pre-stretching natural gut to get rid of any kinks or muscle memory, I have found out from a couple of tournament stringers that they do not pre-stretch ANY poly string, unless told specifically to do so. I guess it a matter of opinion.

Fellas you get taxed if you order stuff over RM500 which includes SHIPPING.
Clothes, Caps, Shoes get taxable goods. (30%)

Strings, grips,do not get taxed, but this is no guarantee though, Malaysia BOLEH!
Rackets are supposed NOT to get taxed, BUT the racket cover is taxable believe it or not.

If gonna do bulk I only strongly suggest strings, grips, lead tape, dampener etc, nothing else.

c'mon lah Z, if you do one stencil for 1 member of sex, you are obligated to do the other as well, once we see your legendary kung fu, we'll know if you are either a T or A man.

>:-)

Speculation on Fed's new racket....bwhahahahaah its NOT 90 Square inches in headsize, it may be a 95 head size racket, this is to deal with his shanks and Nadal's forehand to his backhand :-p

i have the youtek prestige mp with me but this model is not for sale till march next year just that they pass me to decide which racquet im gonna use next year

its 93sq..330g unstrung.. HL.. and well for coaching people like me it certainly is not a racquet for everyday coaching...just too heavy...stiffness is slightly lesser than kblade 93.. feel is good for solid shots like single handed backhand down the line..but forehand power shots its just not there
*
>:-( Say you want to use the whole YOUTEK series!!!!!

Different topic.

This one is for grinner and me, alas I was a tad too slow, I only knew the 200G as it was when John and Steffi were playing, I have NEVER seen this incarnation of the Dunlop Max 200G Pro... pic are below, and yes my jaw is still on the ground ....sighs and the MOFO (pardon my French ;-p) these 2 rackets , the asking price was USD 120.00 each.....sold to some lucky ******* (Not me, I wish though)

Never mind, I have have vowed to buy this racket for collection purposes!!!
Hope I can find one before Christmas..

I have the pro staff classic 6.1 95 however which version are you talking about?
If its the 95 , its a very decent racket, this a slightly less stiffer racket than the original pro staff 6.0 (there are 2 versions ie headsize 85 and 95) , Sweetspot is bigger than K90 and Pro Staff for sure, however it doesn't feel as solid, please be reminded, I have NOT strung this racket with new generation poly's ie Luxilon,Blackcode,Signium,MSV (bwhahaha you know who you are) its only been strung with Cross fire and Prince Topspin from the 90's.

yeah we're probably talking about the same thing. this is the racket that edberg popularised right?
*
Uh to be honest, and I am being sincere, here, Edberg did not use the Pro Staff Classic 6.1, he used a paintjob of the racket, I know this for a fact as I was in Japan years ago and came across a Wilson Pro Staff classic 6.1 but was boxy and not round like the retail commercial Wilson Pro Staff 6.1.

I have included some pics for your perusal.
First pic Top rackets are Wilson Pro Staff 95 Classic retail, in the middle are Wilson Pro Staff 85 Classic retail, last is Limited Editions of Wilson Pro Staff 85 retail PAINTED as Wilson Pro Staff Classic, when Edberg was playing the only people who knew of this paintjob was Wilson,Bowbrand, his stringers, coach....

Also here is a link to vintage rackets, the link is below:
http://www.80s-tennis.com/pages/pro-staff-edberg-2.html

hope I have helped :-p

Regarding our generation of rackets, hmmmm I guess there is no major difference between the Wilson's then and now,but still everyone is searching for that holy grail only for Wilson enthusiasts, Wilson Pro Staff 85 St.Vincent.

Prince, I prefer the Prince of our days, you rarely broke a Prince racket unless it was Prince Magnesium, that racket if left to long in the car hood, it would warp ......but the Prince OverSize Graphite , Agassi first racket is still a classic, the Prince Spectrum is another classic, after the long bodies, and thunderstick I already jumped ship to Wilson.

In between that I was using Rossignol :-p may be a French equivalent to Babolat these days, my cousin fooled around with Lendl's Pro GTX's, I have used yonex's R series and the RX series, I miss my RX-37,but to be honest looks like I am just a Wilson man!

Before ie 15-20 years back may be we can claim to be gear head, that time still single mah, I dunno abt grinner and scirocco but my guess they are also family men already, how to compare .....its like the Sampras Vs Federer debate, if you had prime Sampras Vs Prime Federer who would win.....

I already concede defeat already leh, you are lowyat's tennis gear head now, even these days I ask 'info' from you lol notworthy.gif

ur mind who is the better man..

Sorry man, I know Fed won that match fair and square, but 2001 , you seriously aren't implying.....Sampras was in his prime... I don't want to open a can of worms, so I'll leave it at that.

Regarding the ol star and stripes did you ever play with the Steffi Graf pro staff racket?

I would be seriously to see Fed use a 95, if it played exactly like the old Pro Staff 6.0 95, then no thanks, I'd stick 6.1 tour.
