QUOTE(grinner @ Sep 30 2009, 12:32 PM) ... That's why, until it was pointed out to me by friends, I never gave a thought to it, but then seeing their stringbed with marks on both sides (as opposed to my freakish one-side gleaming, one side worn) made me wonder... and no, I don't suppose there is much difference, though some may argue about durability of the strings since only one side is used... ...well, if you just grip it and don't spin it during points, you do hit with with the same side each time... but that's another poser, do all players grip constantly without changing/spinning the grip... Now I also want to check the string on my racket. See which side I hit the most. Hehe. But really, who plays and never spin/change their racket? Pretty crazy when I think about it. QUOTE(sophisticatedren @ Sep 30 2009, 12:38 PM) grinner ur question really struck me too.. anyway on another note... any suggestion for overgrips? i got sweaty palms n when i say sweaty it really sweats like mad.. im using this wilson pro overgrip but then i end up having to change my grip almost every 3 days to 5 days as it's too wet for me to have a firm grip of the racquet.. can anyone suggest an overgrip and preferably i have a small palm as well.. im just using two overgripsĀ for my racquet (yess.. i took off the original base grip as it's too thick) Added on September 30, 2009, 12:39 pmoh ya.. pls suggest a grip tat i can get in klang valley.. My preferences, TournaGrip. This post has been edited by kokolomondo: Sep 30 2009, 12:48 PM

QUOTE(sophisticatedren @ Sep 30 2009, 12:49 PM) XL?? hmm maybe should get tat 10 pack for rm 75 selling at msia open booth.. Added on September 30, 2009, 12:50 pmsorry i mean tourna grip something something XL which i saw selling at technifibre booth over at msia open TournaGrip has two version. One is the Original Dry and the other one is Tourna Tac (Tacky feel). They also have two length of grip, one is for normal length racket and the other one is XL which is for the LongBody racket I think or maybe if you just need the extra length. If you wanna try, maybe you can get the 3 pack grip probably around RM 20 - 25.

QUOTE(Yan @ Sep 30 2009, 12:46 PM) mm.. how to put this. very hard to word it out. It doesn't make a difference i thinhk which side of racket u hit.. coz it's identical in some sense. for e.g. when we add more lead to the head. we do it both sides of the frame to achieve balance and consistency. So i feel no difference at all how n which side you hit it. coz yes i do twist the racq whenver i waiting for a shot as that's how to switch fr the BH and FH fast. So i guess we don't scrutinize which side onli we hit right ? rather than concentrating on the ball. (not much time to think which side i'm using) hehe Also when i say grip determines whether will u always hit the same side is based on hitting a FH and BH. meaning the chance fr both grips tat determines we hit same side or not. just hold up ur racket (if u r eastern) when u switch to BH.. u'll realize u're hitting with the opposite side of the stringbed. when you use a western n hit forehand then switch to a eastern BH.. u'll see that you r still using that same side. Oh yeah. After a long imagination and secretly simulate it, I get what you mean. But only for a Western forehand & backhand. Hehehe.

As for the grip, I don't have a super sweaty palms. But I do sweat a lot. And I mean a lot. Actually, the grip would be wet not because of my palm but from the sweats dripping from the head. Hehe.

QUOTE(SSJBen @ Oct 5 2009, 07:13 PM) THanks! Whats the price like? Around RM20? QUOTE(Yan @ Oct 5 2009, 07:16 PM) err for tourna i 'm not sure they 're selling in pack of 3s... heard fr peter is in pack of 10s and 15s... anyways will have to chk n let u know later as might be goin there 2molo. Yeap. The last time I went there they do sell the pack of 3's, normal length and XL. If I'm not mistaken the normal is around RM 20-23 while the XL would be around RM24-30 (I could be wrong). They also do sell pack of 15's (pack of 30's devided into 2) but I'm not sure of the price. Added on October 6, 2009, 9:51 amQUOTE(Yan @ Oct 5 2009, 07:06 PM) btw anybody interested in a New Leather grip (from my exo3 graphite). never used before but it's on the racquet handle lah .. let me know. coz i can't play with leather even after putting on overgrip .. skin too delicate Bro, how much? Guys, noob question here, how do you check if the string tension holds well or not? You use your own equipment or you bring it to the stringing shop. How quick (right after strung) do you measure (often)?

QUOTE(scirocco @ Oct 7 2009, 12:44 PM) that aside, i think someone mentioned here before that shoes and apparels are subject to hefty taxes, so not worth getting. stuff like rackets, strings, etc are okay as they are exempt. Nope. My brother told me that sports item won't be taxed. He has bought some shoes over the internet and was not taxed.
