QUOTE(Alexes @ Oct 14 2009, 09:46 PM) Hello all, new here... can recommend me a good racket for beginner? choose something >100sq headsize, rated powerful. if you don't know whether you're gonna stick to the game or not, try getting secondhand racquets ( listed for your convenience here). Cheapest might not be the best suited for beginner and the same goes with the more expensive racquets. Added on October 14, 2009, 10:32 pmQUOTE(h0lycha0s @ Oct 14 2009, 09:51 PM) hey hey thanks for the quick info and reply =) love you guys here.. any gatherings of lyn players ?? jus asking.. =) we're meeting up this saturday in sunway. check 2-3 pages back for details. dunlop max comfort is ok la, dun expect mad spin since the string not edged. You really gotta use technique to impart more spin on it. The only other strings which i have tried is xfire ii, strung on prince cts thunderstick, used occasionally because i dun have vib dampener on it and i hate the sound made by it, need to find more rubber bands.
ssjben, what's your experience regarding max comfort?
Added on October 21, 2009, 8:40 ambtw pinkming, can book the courts at night wan ar? how come got light but nobody use the light?

QUOTE(pooh88 @ Oct 21 2009, 10:22 AM) I just wan to what the hell do u need the grommet for !! I used my racquet for nearly 3-4 years never in my life need to chg grommet !! Unless u itchy hand go & use sandpaper to rub it until grommet turn botak liow it was a 2nd hand stick. some parts of the grommet totally gone. sked string break during whacking. Added on October 21, 2009, 10:44 amQUOTE(grinner @ Oct 21 2009, 09:40 AM) ...respecttt you brother! keeping the faith in that stick. Freakin awesome!!! ...uh by the way, no idea where to get the grommets... must source from prince supplier see if they have terselit in their old drawers, or scour ebay i guess or ask from the western forums... worst comes to worst, diy some grommets from a identical/almost identical piece of grommet... that's what we used to do when had to repair old racquets with no spareparts... using this stick as backup. this stick is in my inlaws place in OUG most of the time where there's tennis court.. so can whack anytime without bringing my gears.. and what is individual grommets btw? QUOTE(grinner @ Oct 21 2009, 10:34 AM) Aiseh, why all the fuss... grommets are necessary la, unless the racquet in grommet-less by design... grommets prevent strings from rubbing excessively against the frame, thus prevent premature snaps. Grommets can snap, crack or break from variey of reason, so need to replace. I don't know (nor care) if question is serious or poke fun, if people ask, I try to answer honestly... hope this helps anyone. thx for the info! QUOTE(scirocco @ Oct 21 2009, 10:52 AM) whoa... this one very high chance of sawing thru the strings... individual grommets are single grommets that look like a small tube. however if u use individual grommets the whole strip needs to be changed. in your case if its only a few, get the stringer to use the silicon tubing instead. i wonder if memory sports has silicon tubing, i dun think the stinger in ss14 has it, otherwise she would have used it.

QUOTE(scirocco @ Oct 21 2009, 11:25 AM) yes, memory sports has the tubing. in fact when i sent my racket in, he saw there was a bit of wear in one of the grommets and put in the tubing which i didnt even notice until i got home. so yes, they definitely have it. thx. must blacklist the ss14 stringer liao..
