BD-60 RM599/- price was Penang price lah, but now I heard finish already. The only brand selling for RM599/- previously in KL/Sel is Philips BDP3000/3008 at Carrefour, but now maybe that too ended already.

3D BD player think needs at least 120mhz LCD to be effective
*
Yes, if using shutter glasses, sure will need at least 120Hz.

Minimum 60Hz per eye (Total 120Hz) , if not bad flickering.

Hi all, I just got a new LCD HD TV and now gatal to jump into the BlueRay wagon smile.gif. I've been going through the searches but I cant seem to find what I was looking for so I hope you can share your thoughts.

1. I am looking for a BluRay player ... budget up to 1500 plus the wiring (have to safe money for the discs) smile.gif and I plan to watch some borrowed DVDs (which might not be original) on it. Which player would you recommend? Is there such a thing as Multi Region or if not something that can play the discs i buy from Speedy Video?

2. Also, how do I spot if the BlueRay disc is ori or not? Sometimes i go to pasar malam and see it lying on their tables..

Thank you in advance.

Blu-ray player below R1,000/-. Last time new Panasonic BD60 was selling around RM900/-, Philps BDP3000 around RM599/-.

If you spotted Blu-ray disc in Pasar Malam where got original ones? You must be in dreamland. And another thing they are mostly plain DVD9 with the Blu-ray logo printed on the cover.

Could be it just doesn't decode DTS-MA but can bitstream. Best is to double check.

Kalido, can sell me your Oppo83 when you get tired of it? biggrin.gif .

But seriously, so far the scaling of DVD from stand alone HDD Media players still not good enough for me. My old Sony DVD HDMI player beats them hands down in terms of picture quality and colours. But too bad it can't play DVD files from hard disks.

I guess only a player like the Oppo 83 can do better since it is using a very good scaling Chip and also supports playback from HDD.

Im kinda getting tired of always swapping my BD's.. Open/Close tray...load/unload... also a surer way to accidentally get scratches and dust on the discs...

I'm all up for a multi-disc BD player!
Bring it!

How many discs you want it to handle , 5 ? Even then it will cost you RM3K above maybe. Just go buy a Media Player lah can play hundreds of Blu-Ray movies without moving a muscle , just use your fingers press the Remote only biggrin.gif

sony s360 at rm600, the curve sony centre..better deal

Be careful. Last time they sold S350 at super price RM599/- it was all display sets repacked nicely back into their original boxes. They might be doing the same with the S360 this time.

Alternative to HDD playback via USB, I'd put higher priority on DLNA based Full HD TV/BD Player (Must have LAN port to connect to router)

So far tested DLNA for SONY BDP S370 via Serviio DLNA media server installed on notebook.
Serviio will transcoding MKVs movie files to M2TS which supported by S370.
The movie files then stream via WIFI & rendered back to TV.

If u plan to play movie file directly from HDD connected to the USB port of S380, highly recommended since
this model can read NTFS.

click here for specs comparison between S380 vs S370:-

http://www.sony.com.my/product/CompareProd...models=BDP-S370

Pro:
The ability of S80 to read external HDD NTFS is highly applauded!

Con:
1. No noise reduction
2. No audio optical output (via coax only)

Beli saje bro!

Can Read Fat32 and NTFS, but what Video or Audio format can it play? MP3 . Xvid only ?

yes, no DLNA, that's the weakness against S370.

read manual page 25 for your answer:-

http://www.docs.sony.com/release/BDPS380.pdf

read this:-

http://www.avforums.com/forums/blu-ray-dvd...s-over-usb.html

CODE
I have now tested it and the USB ports (both of them) now support NTFS.
Played a couple of 8GB MKV files with DTS and DTSHD and both worked fine from a 1TB attached USB disk. Even got sound from the TV with no home cinema system.
No mention is made of NTFS support in any of the manuals so I wasn't expecting it to work.

What about TrueHD from MKV ? Have you tried yet? Does it work, can pls share ?
