I placed my order (with customized display) on 30 Sep 2009 and it's saying "Order Received" on 1 Oct 2009 on the Order Status page. I was told the standard lead time is 2 weeks upon the approval of my payment on 2 Oct. The last update was made on 5 Oct 2009 with the same status "Order Received" and there has not been any update since then. I raised my doubt to my assigned sales person who replied that my order is currently in production but I am not too sure to understand that the order status should have changed from "Order Received" to "Work in Progress" if what he said is true or he meant something else. I understand that the order status is not necessarily reflecting the latest status but I just wonder whether the delay could be due to e.g. China National Day, customized item, paperwork etc. I am just curious to figure this out.

I received my laptop on 21 Oct and I tried to register for the Windows 7 upgrade at http://www.dell.com/windows7upgrade on 22 Oct as told by the Dell customer service but it did not work. The problem is that the registration did not proceed after I clicked on the Validate button on the 2nd registration page. I called the customer service again today and was told that I need to wait 10 - 14 days to ensure my order is updated to their database before I can go for the registration. Does anybody have any idea of this? Thanks.

You mean to say when you clicked the "validate" button, it shows a blank page? if you do, try using Internet Explorer, i had this issue on my Chrome so i tried using IE instead and it works fine. This is dell's website issue.

I mean when I clicked on the "Validate" button but nothing happened and the button just vanished without any message. I have tried using both IE and Firefox but none worked. I called the customer service 3 times and they gave me a different answer each time. For the first call I made I was told to wait for at least 24 hours before I could register. I received my order on 21 Oct. Indeed, I placed my order on 30 Sep but there was a delay due to a shortage of parts. I found it was not working the next day so I made my second call to the customer service and I was told to go through the registration on my new laptop (I had previously done the registration on another laptop) and I found it was not working too. Therefore, I made the call to Dell again for the third time and was told that I need to wait for 10 - 14 days for my order data to be updated to their database before my service tag can be captured by the registration process. I have searched for the issue and it seems that I am not the only one ran into this problem. I am not sure what can be done other than calling the customer service to check the status again.
