Not really. Depend on what you wanted to do with you laptop. You can list out the so called conflict with HD4570 here so we can discuss about it.
Have you tried to download the latest driver released by Dell in their website? You also can try to browse for third party driver or a modded one.

Hi Ray/experts,

i can safely say there's no problem with HD4000 GPU on Vista x64 and Win7 x64...

even apps also... have used x64 OS for more than a year and ve yet to encounter apps and games compatibility problems...

but hey, now Win7 comes with XP mode... this problem is solved... laugh.gif

HI Astria/Ray,

thanks for the reply. I have search from the furoms. my nba2k9 game will
play with 64bit well.

i really prefer the 64bit for its large memory capability.

clayton,

this is very good! i will try to lower my voltage. did you include to lower the other multipliers?

vincent,

i think those temperatures are normal for a laptop CPU. afterall they passed the QA standard of dell. and we dell users has nothing to worry about, any problem we can call dell. that is why i am doing a burn in test of my laptop.

what is your temperature?

no i don't alt tab and check the temperature.. i left this software run for like a day, it records my max, min and average temperature.. and don't know why it never increase to 80'C (max 72'C)..

I don't know whether is accurate or not, but my laptop doesn't feel hot for me after i undervolt it.. my HWMonitor records only 32'C - 52'C on my CPU temp..

and no, i didn't use any cooler for my laptop..
my result after undervolting + overclocking ATI

clayton,

how come it reach 100'C?
overclocking the GPU scares me that it might void the warranty. doesnt it?

your CPU is tune well.! very gud for you!

Yea.. it reached 100'C even on default clock.. that i don't know why.. i'm not an expert in this.. and yes, according to dell, overclocking GPU will void the warranty

I'm very happy with my undervolt tuning, my laptop is able to last around 4 hours on high performance battery option and hardly reach 50'C temp. thumbup.gif my laptop is as cool as 31'C now..

I wanna share my result  thumbup.gif  :

what games youre playing on your laptop? it seems it has a very high demand! my temp highest reach only aroung 75'C now.
i am playing one of the most demanding graphic in the market
nba2k9.

you did not encounter any BSOD in you undervolting?

i have a problem. lately whenever i play any media mp3, avi or etc... i got lag spikes at certain time frame. let say total time for 1 movie is 45min, the lag will start at 35min. its the same for all media. even mp3 let say total time is 4min the lag will start at 3min. it's weird because i dont have any application running at the background except my anti virus. any ideas how this happen? i tried to disable the anti virus and no improvement. i try to play the media file at different computer and it play smoothly. i guess its just the laptop not the file that got problem. is there any other way to find out whats the cause of the lag spike?
*
i may have not fully understand your case.
but please explain detailed things so the we all here can help you.

since when did this problem start?
what was the last thing done before it started?
is it like this from the day dell delivered the laptop to you?

anyway, try running the cleansing tools!

like cccleaner, tune up utilities, disk clean-up, defrag, perform full system scan, always update you anti virus, clean your registry.
try to reinstall the application your using. also monitor you cpu temp/usage.

Thanks for the link. quite useful program n info too smile.gif BTW i just noticed it happen only on wifi connection,  currently trying to reinstall my wireless driver if it can solve the probem.

Hi Fanatic,

so is this isolated already? no more lag when you dont enable your wifi?

if it does, then try to uninstall the wifi drivers then reinstall using the latest updates of drivers
at dell websites.

if it still happens(but make sure every psoibilities is already sort out), then call dell support.
