Hmm... even though this is a new lappie, it does get laggish/sluggish after I leave it on or idle for lets say a day....
Then I'll have to restart/reboot it to make it run naturally again. This has happened even to my previous desktops and laptops. Is this normal? And can anyone give me a clear explanation on this? Thanks! |

Penang Dell Showroom is in Gurney Plaza, new wing.
It is the one and only Dell showroom in the entire SEA region. |

Thanks for the explanation mate. Well, the thing is, I close all applications usually.
Previous experience : Dell Inspiron 1420 First year was ok - played wc3 on net servers, mozilla, msn all running Second year - started heating up a bit, even when not gaming. Finally it heated up like fark until mobo GG. Dell technician replaced it for me FOC. Third year - the problems started coming again - heat like like crazy when watching some movie/show after 1 hour. then have to restart lappie. It was stolen from my house during CNY Now i'm having this new dell studio 1557. Its supposed to be so powerful with the i7 and all that. I thought I would never face this heating problem again. But 2 or 3 days ago it was damn hot, everything was lagging (i left it on for 1-2 days). Only stuff that was running was mozilla, and msn. Bleh... so restarted. Till now, no problems... but I'm always puzzled by this heating up and everything starting to lag issue. btw, there are dozens and dozens of unknown shit running in the background la. I only know the biggest contributors are mozilla firefox and msn (and acrobat reader if i'm on it). The rest are all windows stuff, webcam stuff, and unknown processes like Toaster.exe and wlcomm.exe and wltray.exe dwm.exe @_@ |

Yah man! That machine's cursed lol. I got it in July 2007. It cost me 4k man... i selected the highest specs. At that time, 2gb ram and a 512 ati radeon was GODLY xD
My cooling fan was stolen together with the laptop. Wtf right. Even my razer mouse. Dang it!! I had to get a new razer.... damn shitty lo. Any good cooling fan suggestions? My previous one was a cheapo plastic one with 3 fans and blue LED lights that glowed - giving a cool lighting effect underneath the laptop. I am seeing a lot of black/grey types that are kinda like boxed up in plastic/aluminium frames and... idk how to describe it lol Okay anyway, how do you check the temperature of your dell? I saw some people posted theirs on page 9/10 but idk how to do it ;D This post has been edited by Grimm: Mar 20 2010, 03:14 PM |

rayz1031,
I'm going to get a Cooler Master Notepal Infinite with 4 Port USB as you suggested. There's this new one with 4 port usb, damn fitting for me ;D As I have too many stuff that needs usb ports. Razer mouse Edifier woofers+speakers HP Printer Maxtor external drive sometimes wanna put 1 or 2 pendrives... then cooling fan... ahh! too much, too much! |

I'm opting for an infinite. I haven't decided between the 2 ports or 4 ports.
Actually, I really don't know what the ports are for.... how do the ports work? Since they are not connected to the studio, what is the point? I need more ports to connect my external HD and pendrives.. |

QUOTE(IwanAGP @ Apr 26 2010, 10:32 PM) Oo... U got one cable to connect the cooler to ur studio. Any port can do the job. then u can plug in any usb devices to any of those usb ports on the cooler. it will just functions like normal usb. But i don't think it can take up to 4 usb devices. Nt enough current for all the devices+cooler to run at same time. Max i got 3 connected to the 4 ports. haha Wow, so you mean the USB devices will be detected by my computer even though I'm actually plugging it to the Infinite?Device -> Cooler -> Studio 15 So the connection is connected in this order? Cool! |
