Hi fellow Studio15 proud owners...

I'm former XPS M1210 user & it's scrwed after 2yrs5mths.

I'm looking for new laptop, Studio15 is the lastest model I taking into considerations. Due to the excellent after sales service I experienced (but not so good with my XPS, hot, heavy, slow).

FYI, my XPS M1210 spec as below:
Can anyone tell me, Studio15 hot during operating?? I rili sked with Dell actually, after my XPS M1210 experience.

I customised a Studio15, price RM3325, with 3yrs warranty.

Anyone mind to help me see if the hardware I chose is conflicting eachother? Or the heating issue?

I customising both Inspiron15 & Studio15, tried my best to select both equal level stuff... But why Studio got a higher spec, but lower price?
Can anyone help me to sort out this??

erm...my school got microsoft student partner representer...so i juz register tru them... try asking ur skul .netSIG or some microsoft grp...
erm...my school got microsoft student partnership so after register wif them can dl microsoft stuff for free!! and genuine!! haha!!

it's not a reliable app to use i ve to say... sometimes with correct face but different background also cannot log in...

best way is still ur password....

Bro if you have owned one i7-equipped dell studio 15...

does the new i7 give any special performance  benefits?

how long does it take to boot up the laptop till all background programs are loaded and the laptop is responsive enough for, say, dota?

and the ati mobility radeon 4570.. it's about 50% weaker than its 4670 counterpart right ? >_<..  that one is a bit of a turn off isnt it? not to mention ati mobility radeon 5000 series is going to be launched in a few months...

erm, dota is just for a benchmark bro, if the machine needs only say... 10 seconds from the moment i press the power button till the moment i can start warcraft III tft.. then it's an absolute-must-buy.

but i plan to play FPS too which are more demanding than dota i guess ^^

BTW, 10 seconds with the condition that i have quite a bit of background programs running automatically when windows start..

slow loading mostly because hdd, its not really depend on how high end cpu you got.

Maybe your hdd is better bro.

Mine is oso running quite a bit of background programs at start. Plus the windows vista gadgets oso running quite a bit..

for those who r using toshiba hd.is the hd transfer rate freaking slow or just my prob?

Its not functioning? So I assume you type that with external keyboard?

I suggest you restart your laptop and check every key on the keyboard one by one. If those key really not working then just drop Dell a call. Their technician should be reaching your door on Tuesday.

Has anybody got the Studio 15 with core i7 mobile? How's the performance? Does it boost the gaming performance a lot?

not all c2d.. if compare to c2d P8XXX ... then ok.. if compare to P9XXX... some P9XXX model performance better then i7 720    + even i7 turbo is on..  e
anywhere, my i7 is es model, hope retail/oem wil hav better revision n good performance. 

Just got my laptop fixed today.. it was RAM problem and the technician verify it's not heat issue, it was a faulty RAM..

Does anyone tried ATI CC's lcd overdrive? how as it? i heard can increase pixel changing speed or something and improve graphic performance?

i have a problem. lately whenever i play any media mp3, avi or etc... i got lag spikes at certain time frame. let say total time for 1 movie is 45min, the lag will start at 35min. its the same for all media. even mp3 let say total time is 4min the lag will start at 3min. it's weird because i dont have any application running at the background except my anti virus. any ideas how this happen? i tried to disable the anti virus and no improvement. i try to play the media file at different computer and it play smoothly. i guess its just the laptop not the file that got problem. is there any other way to find out whats the cause of the lag spike?

just completed registering for win7 upgrade..

wat else can i do with my "sweetheart" now?? =)
