Really no one facing problem with ur bluetooth??? I can't detect new devices... And even i try to connect from my phone. It will show a device want to connect ... press here to allow.... but after i press nothing will come out!!! I can't detect any devices. Tried many versions of driver whether for studio 1555 or other dell laptop but all not working. Anyone got idea how to solve this??? I tried the update software from broadcom also can't use... Will stuck at detecting bluetooth device.
Any solution for it?? Kindly reply if u got solution...
I checked through google and found that it's either vista sp2 problem or broadcom software problem. But i can't solve it in either way... I found that vista sp2 got new bluetooth function to connect to bluetooth devices but i also cannot find it in my s1555... So troublesome!!! Hope help can be given asap...

Oo... Just found out from a blog that dell got the software for 1555 for srs premium sound. Is it true? I bought my laptop in april 2009(around pc fair). How do i check whether my IDT version includes the srs thingy?

Added on January 6, 2010, 10:12 pmOh ya... got something else to ask. Can i know whether u guys' headphone jack a bit like... maybe it's called over voltage?? Since i bought my s15, two earphones were broken and what's weird is... Only either left or right is broken for each pair of earphone. Another thing is the volume. Using any pair of headphones or earphone, i can't turn the volume to max. Around 35 alrdy very very loud. Is this normal? My previous earphone just 2 months then broken. New headphone (sonicgear HP 800) i scare will be broken very fast too.
Can anyone leave some comment for this? Like what volume u usually turn on for music listening(normal listening, just moderate volume level) when using headphone/earphone. And. If this is really a problem(over voltage??) to deal with manufacturer's faulty, can i call dell and ask them to handle this? The cost to change headphones once in two to three months is very high le...~

Can i request more reply for my question above?? I need replies for headphones and earphones. Anyone facing the same problem with me?

@[revolution]:
speaker maybe can handle larger voltage. Maybe because the driver is much more bigger compared to earphones and headphones. I need just answers for headphones and earphones. Thx.

Maybe we shd really ask dell about this. I just use my headphone with my laptop and phone(with 3.5mm jack). Phone shdn't be a prob so i guess is my s15. My headphone can use with my fren's laptop(cq-40) with normal volume but when plug into my s15 then... 2~3 for earphone, 3X for headphone will be more than enough.

the idea of unsticking the sticker is nice, but scared i accidently tear it up (total destruction  rclxub.gif )

He meant keep the original stick(referring to ram, means u take off the original one then plug in new one and then the original one must keep with you. When u wanna send back to claim warranty, install back the original one, take out the one u added yourself.) and he mentioned there is no sticker(warranty sticker) on dell memory(no warranty sticker on ram). Different way of understanding. "stick" and "sticker" made the difference

I think those win7 32bit users used vista 32bit drivers for it. My s15 is vista. Can't make sure. Have a try.

Hello, how do you guys rate the quality of the audio system found on studio 15? So far, I only found studio 15 integrated with a subwoofer. Is there any on studio 14?

Is there a possibility that Dell is going to upgrade the HD4570 to HD5470?

Thank you. smile.gif
*
i don't think there is subwoofer on s14. ask dell upgrade to 5870~~ and... s15 sound quality really nice compare to other laptop w/o subwoofer. The bass from subwoofer can be clearly felt when u listen to two laptops, s15 vs no subwoofer. But for the price... now i think acer got one model... forgot exact name, something like 5920 or what... using i5 520m, got subwoofer too then using HD5470 i guess or 5570?? Something like that. Price only 2999 Quite interested me. Lolz

just my 2cent

Oo... discussed subwoofer?? I personally feels that my s1555 speaker rocks. U can't compare them with any other laptop with just 2.0 sound. I can feel the bass very truly. Whenever i play a song, and place my palm on the keyboard, the vibration is very true. Compared to acer 4937G(old model, with dolby home theater?? somethig like that) and compaq cq-40(with 'altec lansing')... s1555 easily kick them off!!! And...

@whiteangel
actually before this, there's bass boost and low frequency protection for my 1555... u can get to it through start-->type sound-->then u can get into those settings. in enhancement page under speakers' properties, there's bass boost and low frequency protection where windows will not play sound lower than certain frequency.
THIS IS BEFORE I REINSTALL IDT audio driver...
After i install, bass boost and low level frequency protection option can only be seen in headphone properties page. Maybe that is the problem. Personally, i think s1555 speaker is nice, compared to other laptops. and compared to some small 2.0 speakers too... for a laptop, i think that the SQ is just nice. don't expect too much from it. haha

Hi guys  laugh.gif
I have a DELL Studio 14. I understand the screen resolutions are way higher than other notebooks around. At max. resolutions, the screen is very clear and nice looking (but a little bit too small). However, when I want to decrease the resolution (say to 1280x768 etc), the wordings/ pictures on the notebook become blurry. I was wondering whether it is the same for all other Studio laptops?

My Studio 14 is an old model with Core 2 Duo. No dedicated GPU.
Thank you very much!  icon_rolleyes.gif

... not just other studio laptops... All display is like that... For example, studio 15(mine) resolution is 1366x768. That means the lcd got 1366 vertical lines and 768 horizontal lines(of pixels). Means.. in a row, there's 1366 pixels and there's 768 rows. Therefore, the display is utilized to display at 1366x768. When u lower down the resolution, like 800x600, the pixels are stretched. Not longer 1 pixel as 1 pixel... Maybe 2 pixels are used to display 1 pixel in 800x600.

Therefore, it becomes blurry. I don't know how to espress what i know. haha

My studio's warranty just expired!~ Still going strong... Battery 100% charged can still manage to go up to 3 hours!!(pure surfing only... Not PSing or Gaming)... My DVD also not giving me prob(btw... i rarely use it too...) The speaker is nice(but i just got an edifier m1335 to get better sound). Still no scratch on my s1555(protected with transparent sticker from ezstick(not confirm... forgot edi)
The only prob for me is... the volume of the headphone jack... with headphone... around 36 is max i will go... for my new 2.1 speakers, i will go until about 20 only... 100 will kill them(headphone and speakers) i guess...

Oo... But the solution u found is for flickering... Ur case is just the lowest part of the lcd. i don't really know. haha!~ but if it's something to do with magnetic field... maybe u got speakers around(old speaker that is not magnetically shielded). If yes, then it may be the problem. Newer speakers mostly magnetically shielded. Won't affect monitors.

3 hours ++? what's your spec? Btw running on 6 cell or 9 cell?

Does Studio15 laptop battery comes with battery level checker? (the one with 5 LED on the battery pack)
